Our people are united by a shared way of working: follow the science, challenge assumptions, act with urgency and hold ourselves to a high standard of rigor—all in service of patients.
The Opportunity:

The role will focus on drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor services, consulting, technology services and procurement arrangements and will also support clinical trial, healthcare professional (HCP/HCO) and data-related contracting as business needs evolve.
Working closely with colleagues across Legal, Compliance and Privacy, the role will support the Company’s commercialization readiness in Europe, and will help build scalable templates, playbooks and contracting processes as the European Legal team grows.
The ideal candidate brings strong contracting experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, sound judgment, pragmatism and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
-
Draft, review, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including consulting, technology services, vendor services and procurement-related agreements, as well as master services agreements and statements of work.
-
Support commercialization readiness for initial European product launches, including launch-related contracting and operational infrastructure.
-
Provide legal guidance on contract interpretation, liability allocation, confidentiality, dispute resolution and related operational matters.
-
Draft, review, negotiate and maintain HCP/HCO agreements and country-specific templates for consulting, advisory boards, speaker engagements, research collaborations, grants, congress sponsorships and patient organization interactions, consistent with the EFPIA Code and applicable national industry codes, in close coordination with Compliance.
-
Review and advise on promotional, medical education and disease awareness materials in accordance with applicable EU and national laws, EMA guidance and industry codes.
-
Draft and negotiate data processing, data transfer and other data-related agreements and clauses and advise on GDPR considerations arising in commercial and clinical contracting, including international data transfers, in partnership with Global Privacy and Information Security.
-
Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, fallback positions and legal intake processes to drive efficiency and consistency across Europe.
-
Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Privacy and Finance.
-
Collaborate across a broad range of legal, operational, regulatory and strategic matters handled by the European Legal team and manage outside counsel as needed.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
-
Law degree (LL.M., JD or equivalent) and admission to practice in an EU/EEA member state, Switzerland or the UK; current good standing where applicable.
-
8+ years of post-qualification legal experience in-house at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences company and/or in the life sciences practice of a leading law firm.
-
Strong experience independently drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including services, consulting, technology and procurement agreements.
-
Working knowledge of the GDPR as applied to commercial and clinical contracting, and of the EFPIA Code and national industry codes governing interactions with HCPs, HCOs and patient organizations.
-
Familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks applicable to pharmaceutical promotion.
-
Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills; business-oriented mindset with strong judgment and pragmatism.
-
Proactive, highly organized and able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth, mission-driven environment.
-
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in one or more additional European languages is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
-
Prior in-house legal experience within a global biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, ideally in oncology or specialty pharmaceuticals.
-
Experience negotiating clinical trial agreements, CRO or clinical vendor agreements and/or HCP/HCO agreements.
-
Experience supporting organizations preparing for a first commercial launch in Europe.
