Company: Ultra Intelligence & Communications
Command, Control, Intelligence (UK) (C2I UK)

Powering Decision
Join the team redefining defense technology. From engineering systems that save lives to leading programs that change the battlefield—find your place in the future of defense.

Command, Control, Intelligence, and Encryption (C2I&E)
By joining our Command, Control, Intelligence, and Encryption (C2I&E) business, you will be a member of a team dedicated to providing innovative solutions that streamline the preparation and execution of intricate, mission-critical operations. We focus on enhancing situational awareness, tactical command and control, and seamless video data exchange capabilities within a dynamic, multi-domain environment.

Job Description

Our business delivers resilient tactical communications, encryption and AI-enabled solutions that secure, move, and make sense of data across all domains to empower decision and enable autonomy.

We give operators the upper hand when it matters most. We develop and manufacture advanced, dual-use communications systems across the full tactical spectrum, from line-of-sight tactical radios to beyond-line-of-sight troposcatter and satellite communications, and have delivered thousands (and counting) of systems to NATO and allied forces worldwide.

Through our software solutions we provide real-time situational awareness - blending video, radar, audio and cybersecurity inputs into one unified, intuitive platform. It delivers a single operational picture that helps teams assess threats, trigger alerts and make smarter decisions, faster. From safeguarding military bases to securing complex infrastructure, we provide our customers persistent visibility and mission-ready insight - anytime, anywhere.
Role Summary:

As we enter a new phase of growth, we are bringing together our Communications (predominantly SATCOM) and Command & Control (C2) product teams to accelerate our growth. We are seeking a dynamic, proactive, high-potential Sales Manager to join our UK sales team and help drive this next chapter.

This role will be responsible for growing sales across the full breadth of our product lines — SATCOM, Line of Sight Radios, Troposcatter and C2 software with an initial focus on our situational awareness software and customer-funded R&D projects.

Unlike a traditional account management role built on legacy relationships, this position calls for someone who can proactively source, qualify and close new business, expanding our customer base beyond our established partner network and identifying new growth opportunities across all product lines.

About You:

You are a high-potential, proactive individual keen to grow your experience, learn and develop. You are energised by owning the full sales cycle, from sourcing and qualifying opportunities through to contract.  You are highly accountable taking full accountability for ensuring customer relationships are protected and bids & proposals are delivered on time.
You work naturally across functions, partnering closely with engineers to shape offers and proposals, and you see yourself as the voice of the customer inside the business — representing their needs through to delivery and giving engineers genuine insight into customer perspective.
You are comfortable working in a agile and fast paced environment.  Happy to go beyond the day to day to get stuck-in to ensure the success of the whole team.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Opportunity Management

- Own the full sales cycle across assigned territories and product lines: sourcing, qualification, proposal development, negotiation and contract close.

- Manage the sales funnel by employing effective strategies to develop opportunities from prospecting stage to order conversion.

- Win orders by identifying, planning and leading the execution of capture strategies and plans.  Securing the budget and beyond this

- Comfortable managing proposals through the internal bid approval process while working to continuously improve this.

- Accurately maintain CRM database for all opportunities within assigned territory.

- Develop and advocate the bid/no-bid business case objectively and astutely.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Lead cross-functional teams effectively during pre-sale stages, especially during preparation and delivery of demonstrations, trials, and proposals.

- Work hand-in-hand with engineering to translate customer needs into compelling technical offers, ensuring the customer's voice informs product and proposal development.

- Act as an advisor with the product management team on the roadmap towards business growth within the assigned territory.

Customer Engagement & Market Development

- Act as a trusted advisor to the customer on the best approach to solve their needs.

- Build new relationships beyond our existing partner network, actively identifying and developing opportunities with new customers and agents.

- Build and strengthen relationships with customers, agents, governments and other business partners.

- Obtain market intelligence – systematically acquire the market knowledge and competitive intelligence that will support innovative and successful win strategies, and promote Marconi’s image and reputation by representing the Marconi  through participation in shows, presentations and other events.

Accountability & Delivery

- Take full ownership of bid timelines, ensuring proposals and offers are delivered on schedule in partnership with engineering and operations.

- Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and reporting throughout the opportunity lifecycle.

- Ensure smooth transitions between pre-sales, capture, and contracting teams.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

- Demonstrated potential and drive will be weighted more heavily than years of direct sector experience; candidates from adjacent technical, software or defence-related sales backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
