Doctoral Researcher (f/m/x)
TV-L 13 (gross 59.324 € - 84.319 €)

The Particle Science and Technology group at the University of Duisburg-Essen conducts research on the synthesis, characterization, functionalization and processing of particles for applications in energy, catalysis and materials science.

The position is part of the DFG-funded research project “Uncovering the Interplay Between Iron-Oxide Nanoparticles and Nickel Substrates for Alkaline Oxygen Evolution.” The project investigates how different iron oxide phases (α-Fe2O3, γ-Fe2O3 and Fe3O4) and their interactions with nickel substrates influence catalytic activity during the alkaline oxygen evolution reaction (OER). By combining nanoparticle synthesis, electrode preparation, electrochemical testing and advanced materials characterization, the project aims to establish relationships between material properties, interfacial structures and electrocatalytic performance.
