About the role

ERP Implementer – Total ETO Inc.

Full-Time · Remote · Engineer-to-Order ERP

About the Role

We implement a purpose-built cloud ERP platform for small to mid-sized engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturers. As Implementation Lead you will own the complete onboarding journey for the clients assigned to you from project kick-off until they are moved into the Support phase of their lifecycle. You will be the primary point of contact, subject-matter expert, trainer, and project manager throughout each engagement.

Implementations run over many months, and key objectives are to keep clients moving purposefully forward, with minimal delay, towards completion and long-term retention. Each Implementation Lead manages 6 to 12 active implementations concurrently, working on discovery, configuration, data preparation, module-by-module training, project management meetings, specification of customizations built by our development. team and go-live coaching.

Job Type: Full-Time Remote, Permanent

Salary range:  $70,000 - $90,000 salary range reflects experience and the unique skills each candidate brings to the role.

What You'll Do

Configuration and Coaching

- Conduct discovery sessions to understand each client's business processes, data structures, and operational requirements.

- Map client workflows to system capabilities, identifying configuration options and documenting decisions clearly.

- Guide data migration and preparation, helping clients organize and validate the information needed to populate the system.

- Coordinate go-live readiness/UAT and provide hands-on support through the transition period.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

- Deliver module-by-module training tailored to each client's role structure and learning pace.

- Build client confidence and self-sufficiency, reducing dependence on ongoing support after go-live, and ensuring that our software is fully embedded in the client’s business.

Reporting & Data Integration

- Gather client requirements for custom reports and custom integrations.

- Collaborate with internal technical resources to translate business reporting needs into deliverable outputs.

- Work with clients to validate that customizations are fit for purpose, report issues to internal technical resources, and iterate as necessary.

Project Management

- Maintain clear implementation timelines and provide regular status updates for each active engagement.

- Adapt your PM approach to client expectations — lightweight check-ins for some, more structured project governance for others.

- Proactively surface risks, delays, and scope questions before they become problems.

- Hold client accountable for their deliverables and keep them continuously moving towards UAT (user acceptance testing) and go-live.

- Communicate progress updates clearly and consistently to client stakeholders.

- Keep implementation effort within scope while adhering to the primary objective of client retention.

- Closely track progress of T&M work versus approved estimate and ensure work is submitted for billing — accurately, fairly, and in a timely manner.

Record Keeping

- Faithful and accurate recording of time spent on client work in Total ETO’s PSA system (Autotask), submitted weekly by the end of the first working day of the following week.

- Concise, well curated, notes relating to each client kept in the corporate file repository (SharePoint).

What You Bring

Required

- Demonstrated experience implementing, configuring, or administering enterprise software — ERP, CRM, or similar business applications.

- Comfort working inside complex, multi-module database applications and an ability to learn new systems thoroughly and quickly.

- Working knowledge of relational database concepts.

- Strong client-facing communication skills: you can translate technical concepts for non-technical users and business process language for technical audiences.

- Genuine ability to run multiple concurrent projects without letting details fall through the cracks.

- Self-directed work style suited to a fully remote environment — you manage your own time, flag issues proactively, and don't need close oversight to stay on track.

Nice to Have

- Experience in or working knowledge of engineer-to-order or make-to-order manufacturing environments — job costing, BOMs, routings, shop floor, or similar.

- Familiarity with ERP modules common to manufacturing: inventory, purchasing, production, quoting, or financials.

- Formal project management training or certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).

- Experience supporting clients across multiple time zones.

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a fully remote, permanent position. Standard hours are 40 hours per week, and we protect that. You will occasionally need to flex your schedule — starting earlier or finishing later — to accommodate “international” clients based (UK, Australia, etc.). These situations are the exception, not the rule.

Travel to client sites, for a few days’ duration, may be required. This is rare but you must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel to the USA and other countries.

You are required to maintain a professionally appointed home workspace: a dedicated, quiet work area with reliable high-speed internet, appropriate videoconferencing setup (camera, microphone, lighting), and an environment free from distractions during client meetings. A laptop will be provided by the company, as will any role-specific hardware and software licenses.

What Success Looks Like

- Clients move through implementation milestones on schedule and leave the onboarding process confident and capable.

- Your product knowledge becomes deep enough to share with the team, while remaining humble enough to ask for assistance.

- You understand your clients' businesses — their terminology, their workflows, their pressure points. You can interpret their actual needs - and they notice.

- Your concurrent engagements are organized, your clients feel attended to, and nothing important gets dropped.

- You identify problems early and bring solutions, not just issues.

If you thrive at the intersection of software, business process, and client relationships — and you want to do meaningful, complex work with real ownership — we'd like to hear from you.

Application Process

We do our best to ensure every application is reviewed by a real person. Because of the number of applications we receive and the needs of our day-to-day work, we may use AI tools to support our review process as needed.  Candidates selected to move forward will begin with a phone screening, followed by a video interview and/or a role-related technical assessment, depending on the position.

We sincerely appreciate the interest of all applicants; however, we are only accepting applications from candidates authorized to work and residing in Canada.  We are unable to support international applications or sponsorship for this role.

Total ETO is committed to providing an accessible recruitment process. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates participating in all aspects of the recruitment and selection process.
