Flight Line Assistant

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified person to fill a vacancy, based at Lanseria International Airport.

The main objective of the position is to ensure the efficient preparation, cleaning and movement of all aircraft.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with aircraft provisioning, water, sanitation, GPU connection, toilet services, and use correct equipment in line with maintenance procedures.

- Coordinate with the Flight Line Supervisor on movement requirements. Support safe towing, refuelling, and aircraft positioning into/out of hangars and onto the apron while providing accurate marshalling.

- Ensure ground equipment is available, serviceable, correctly used, and report misuse or defects.

- Secure aircraft with chocks, keep apron and parking areas clean.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or relevant manager to support flight line operations.

- Assist with all ad hoc duties as assigned by the relevant manager

Educational & Experience

- Matric/Grade 12.

- Driver’s License.

- 2 Years’ experience in a flight line environment. (Aircraft Preparation & Servicing Competence: Skilled in aircraft cleaning, provisioning, sanitation services, and checklist accuracy with strong attention to detail. Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Handling. Knowledgeable in operating, inspecting, and managing GSE responsibly, with a proactive approach to identifying defects. Movement, Towing & Marshalling Support: Capable of assisting with towing, refueling, and providing clear, safe marshalling with high situational awareness.
