Forklift Driver

Key responsibilities:

- Operate a forklift to load, offload, move, stack, and replenish stock and pallets

- Assist with stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory checks

- Conduct daily pre-start checks on the forklift and report defects immediately

- Operate forklift strictly in line with SOPs, OHS Act, and site safety rules.

- Adhere to load capacity limits, speed limits, and pedestrian safety rules.

- Wear required PPE at all times and maintain good housekeeping

- Fetch packaging material from material stores/packaging store and deliver to the factory floor/production lines as requested

- Assist in moving waste from the factory floor to the designated waste area

- Assist with wrapping pallets of finished goods

- Assist with moving any material on site when called upon

- Assist with loading and offloading trucks with raw materials and finished goods when requested

- Refill gas (LPG) or recharge/change battery when required – ensure forklift never runs out during shift

- Check gas bottle levels/battery charge at start of shift and during shift

- Keep forklift clean

Requirements

- Grade 12/ Matric

- Valid forklift License – Counterbalance (Reach Truck an advantage)

- 1-3 years forklift experience in food factory/ FMCG/ Warehouse

- Medically fit to operate forklift

- Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends and to work on factory floor when needed
