Site: Mass General Brigham Medical Group, Inc.
Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.
Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, 37.5-hour Front Desk Assistant to join our Express Care team!
Express Care, formally known as Urgent Care, offers timely treatment for non-emergency conditions. We care for adults and children ages 2 and up, addressing a wide range of issues such as respiratory illnesses, infections, minor injuries, rashes, and stomach problems. Because patients often visit when they’re feeling unwell, our team prioritizes compassion and emotional support alongside quality medical care.
The schedule consists of working 3, 12.5-hour shifts per week including an every-other-weekend rotation (Both Saturday & Sunday). Since Express Care is a 7-day-per-week operation that delivers care during the day, evening, weekends, and holidays, the schedule for this role will require 2 on-call shifts per 4-week scheduling period, weekend, holiday coverage and the flexibility to work overtime as needed.
The primary location for this role is 425 Washington Street Woburn, MA.
We do our best to keep all employees at their assigned centers; however, for on-call shifts, employees must be able to commute to any of our locations, including Brookline, Boston Common, Newton, Lynn, Natick, Westwood, and Woburn. You may also be asked to report to any of these centers during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of staffing shortages or other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes).
There is free parking at each of our locations!
What You'll Do
In this patient-facing role, you'll help keep our Express Care operations running smoothly while creating a positive experience for patients and their families. Responsibilities include:
Welcome and register patients upon arrival, ensuring a friendly, professional, and efficient check-in experience.
Coordinate patient appointment times over the phone, answer incoming calls, and assist with general questions regarding Express Care services.
Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and registration information to ensure accurate records.
Recognize patients who may require immediate clinical attention and promptly alert the appropriate clinical team members in accordance with established procedures.
Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and fellow administrative team members to support patient flow and daily practice operations.
Assist with general front desk responsibilities, patient communications, and administrative tasks to help maintain an organized and welcoming environment.
Why Join Our Team?
At Mass General Brigham, you'll be part of a collaborative, patient-centered team dedicated to making healthcare more accessible to our communities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment, values teamwork, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the patient experience.
If you're ready to bring your customer service skills and positive attitude to a team where every day brings something new, we'd love to hear from you!
