About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Licensed and Certified Genetic Counselor based in the United States.
As a Genetic Counselor, you will provide accessible, personalized, and evidence-based virtual care to adults seeking guidance on genetic testing, reproductive health, and family planning. You will help members better understand genetic screening options, interpret test results, and make informed decisions about their healthcare journeys. Through individual video consultations and secure asynchronous messaging, you will deliver compassionate clinical guidance tailored to each member's needs. Working within a multidisciplinary virtual care network, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care. This opportunity allows you to expand your professional practice while supporting individuals and families across diverse backgrounds and geographic locations. With approximately five hours of weekly commitment, you can enjoy flexibility while contributing to meaningful improvements in women's and family health.
Accountabilities:
- Provide virtual genetic counseling services to adult members through 30-minute video consultations and secure asynchronous messaging.
- Educate members about prenatal screening and genetic testing options, helping them understand available procedures, potential outcomes, and associated considerations.
- Provide guidance on preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A), including its purpose, potential benefits, limitations, and considerations for embryo testing.
- Help members prepare for consultations with in-person genetic counselors by explaining atypical or abnormal test results, discussing additional testing options, and identifying situations requiring further clinical evaluation.
- Support members in understanding and interpreting results from direct-to-consumer genetic testing and identifying appropriate next steps.
- Document all clinical encounters, recommendations, and relevant member information accurately within the designated practice management system.
- Collaborate with the Care Delivery team to coordinate individual member needs, facilitate in-person referrals, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
- Provide culturally sensitive, inclusive, and empathetic care that respects members' diverse backgrounds, experiences, and healthcare needs.
- Contribute to a comprehensive, member-centered virtual care experience by collaborating with professionals across multiple medical specialties.
- Participate in optional professional opportunities, including moderating community discussions, facilitating virtual educational sessions, and writing or reviewing health education content.
- Engage in optional educational events, lectures, panels, and speaking opportunities to share professional expertise and support community education.
Requirements:
- Board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) is required.
- Active genetic counseling licensure in your state of residence, where state regulations require it.
- Current residence within the United States.
- At least five years of independent professional genetic counseling practice.
- A minimum of three years of experience delivering healthcare services through telehealth or other virtual care environments.
- Availability to provide approximately five hours per week of direct member care in a part-time, 1099 independent contractor capacity.
- Strong knowledge of genetic counseling principles, reproductive genetics, prenatal screening, genetic testing, and interpretation of consumer genetic testing results.
- Ability to explain complex genetic and medical information clearly, accurately, and compassionately to individuals with varying levels of health literacy.
- Comfortable using digital healthcare platforms, video consultations, and secure messaging tools to deliver high-quality virtual care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical assessment skills, with the ability to establish trust and build meaningful relationships remotely.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, including the ability to maintain accurate clinical records and coordinate referrals and follow-up care.
- Demonstrated commitment to women's health, reproductive health, family well-being, and equitable access to healthcare.
- Ability to provide culturally humble, inclusive, and patient-centered care to members from diverse communities and backgrounds.
- Self-motivated and adaptable professional who can work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Benefits:
- Flexible working arrangements: Provide virtual consultations at convenient times and from a location that suits your schedule.
- Part-time commitment: Approximately five hours per week, allowing you to supplement your existing clinical practice.

- Professional network: Opportunity to connect and collaborate with healthcare professionals across more than 30 specialties and over 350 subspecialties.
- International reach: Serve members across more than 175 countries, with access to language and care-matching services.
- Training and events: Optional participation in sponsored lectures, professional panels, and speaking engagements.
