About the role

About us:

Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

The role:

Do you enjoy keeping complex buildings running smoothly, solving problems before they escalate and delivering projects that make a visible difference?

We’re looking for an Operations Advisor – Technical and Building Services to help support the day-to-day operation of our UK offices. You’ll work across technical services, facilities management and building projects, helping to ensure our workplaces are safe, compliant, efficient and consistently deliver a high-quality service.
This is a broad, hands-on role where no two days will look quite the same. You could be reviewing building performance, coordinating contractors, resolving a technical issue or leading an office move or improvement project.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Supporting technical, engineering and facilities services across our UK offices.

- Keeping building systems reliable, efficient and fully operational.

- Working closely with landlords, suppliers, contractors, consultants and internal teams.

- Supporting the delivery of facilities services, including cleaning, security and waste management.

- Leading building changes, moves and projects, with a focus on compliance, quality and minimal disruption.

- Overseeing maintenance, repairs, inspections, testing and defect resolution.

- Monitoring supplier performance and service quality to ensure agreed standards are met.

- Managing supplier budgets and cost plans.

- Using operational data and insights to identify improvements and develop proactive, preventative plans.

What we're looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced technical and building services professional who is just as comfortable solving an operational issue as they are coordinating suppliers, stakeholders and projects.
You’ll bring strong technical knowledge, a practical approach and the confidence to work across a range of building and facilities services. You’ll be proactive, solutions-focused and able to keep things moving in a busy professional environment.

You’ll ideally have:

- 5+ years’ experience overseeing building and technical services, ideally within a global professional services organisation.

- Experience managing cross-functional facilities services, including engineering, cleaning, security and health & safety.

- A strong understanding of building operations, maintenance, compliance, inspections and quality control.

- Experience working with project teams, consultants and contractors to deliver high-quality results.

- Confidence overseeing suppliers and contractors and holding them to agreed standards.

- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining reliable services and minimising disruption.

- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

- A proactive, practical mindset with an eye for identifying issues, improving services and preventing problems before they arise.

What's on offer:

Joining Team Linklaters will see you qualify for a range of benefits designed to reward the vital contribution you'll be making to our success. These include:
