About the role

Oula delivers maternity care built around our patients—offering comprehensive support before, during, and after pregnancy. With fewer C-sections and higher VBAC success rates, our research-backed approach is delivering better outcomes. Our team of trusted midwives, OBGYNs, and dedicated care navigators ensure our patients get the type of care they need in the moments that matter most.

Since launching in 2021, we’ve expanded our services to include Preconception and Miscarriage Care, Pregnancy Care, Postpartum Support, and Gynecology. Today, we serve patients across six clinics in three states, with continued expansion planned for 2027 and beyond. Join our team of clinicians, innovators, operators, and technologists who are passionate about setting a new standard in maternity care.

The Role

As a Patient Care Navigator, you are the patient's point of contact between visits. You follow OB patients from their first visit through postpartum, making sure every test, scan, referral and visit happens on time. For GYN patients, you close the loop on results, referrals, procedures and positive pregnancy tests. You work on site alongside our midwives, OBs, medical assistants and front desk, and you are measured on whether patients make it to each next step.

Schedule: Full-time, fully on site.

Employment type: Full-time

What You'll Do

Patient Navigation & Care Coordination

-
Reach out to each new OB patient within 2 business days of her first visit to introduce yourself and confirm next steps.

-
Track every patient on your caseload through each stage of pregnancy and make sure each checkpoint is complete.

-
Make sure tests, scans and referrals are scheduled, completed and returned to the provider.

-
Send hospital records ahead of delivery, capture delivery, and book postpartum visits.

-
Hand patients off to ongoing GYN care at graduation.

GYN Follow-Up & Patient Communication

-
Follow up on abnormal results and referrals until the visit, procedure or report is complete.

-
Send procedure prep instructions, confirm appointments and rebook no-shows.

-
Read incoming portal messages, resolve administrative requests, and route clinical questions to a midwife, OB or RN using approved protocols.

-
Reach out to patients who are lost to follow-up and clear that queue weekly.

Clinic Support

-
Cover medical assistant or front desk duties during planned absences.

What You Won't Do

You do not give medical advice, assess symptoms, or share or interpret results. You recognize when something is clinical and route it to the right clinician, every time.

How Success Is Measured

-
Journey checkpoints completed on time.

-
Referrals and results closed.

-
Lost-to-follow-up queue cleared weekly.

-
Hospital records sent on time.

-
Portal response time and routing accuracy.

Qualifications

Required

-
2 years experience as a medical assistant in an outpatient clinical setting, certification preferred.

-
Ability to work fully on site.

-
Strong organization and follow-through across a large patient caseload.

-
Clear, warm communication with patients by phone, message and in person.

-
Comfort working in an EMR and patient portal.

Preferred

-
Current medical assistant certification (e.g., CCMA, CMA, RMA) (strongly preferred)—required in states that require certifications.

-
OB/GYN or women's health experience.

-
Experience in patient navigation, care coordination or referral management.
