About the position
Chevron ENGINE is seeking high-performing professionals to join its Reservoir Engineering and Simulation team. This role focuses on the application, testing, deployment, and support of Reservoir Simulation and Optimization (RSO) technologies and workflows that enable business value across Chevron's global asset portfolio.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with research and development teams to pilot emerging technologies using field-scale reservoir models, deploy solutions for operational use, and provide ongoing customer support. The role also involves applying these technologies in field studies, gathering user feedback, and contributing to the continuous enhancement of Chevron’s RSO capabilities. The engineer will help integrate proprietary technologies with industry-leading commercial solutions to deliver differentiated business value.
In addition to technical contributions, the successful candidate is expected to coach and mentor team members while supporting capability development across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with U.S.-based R&D teams to test, pilot, deploy, and support reservoir simulation and optimization technologies and reservoir engineering workflows.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide customer support for RSO workflows and digital applications.
- Conduct reservoir engineering and simulation studies for a wide range of oil and gas assets, including building new simulation models and updating existing models in partnership with geoscientists and other subsurface professionals.
- Perform history matching of production and pressure data and generate forecasts to support field development and optimization decisions.
- Contribute to user experience, data management, and digital product development, including e.g., dashboards, visualization tools, machine learning applications, and cloud-native solutions.
- Support software testing, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), build and release processes, and cloud-based application deployment.
- Participate in the development of new/enhanced technical capabilities, software features, and training materials.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
