About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Retail Marketing Manager based in France.
We are looking for an experienced Retail Marketing Manager to strengthen brand presence and accelerate retail growth across European markets. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of retail campaigns, in-store experiences, and partner activations across multiple countries. You will transform global brand strategies into locally relevant initiatives, equipping sales teams and retail partners with the tools and materials they need to succeed. Working closely with European leadership, country teams, and international headquarters, you will coordinate product launches and oversee the full retail marketing process. This is an opportunity to build and shape a growing function with significant ownership, autonomy, and room for innovation. The position is fully remote within the EU or UK, with regular travel across Europe.
Accountabilities
You will own the retail marketing strategy and execution across five direct European markets and distributor-led territories, ensuring consistent brand experiences while adapting initiatives to local market needs.
-
Develop and execute retail marketing campaigns and activations with retailers and partners across Europe, covering both digital and physical channels.
-
Manage the marketing dimension of partner relationships, including in-store presence, shop window concepts, point-of-sale (POS) displays, retail campaign mechanics, and co-marketing initiatives.
-
Serve as the central contact for Country Managers and Sales Managers, translating local market requirements into clear briefs, campaign concepts, and ready-to-use execution toolkits.
-
Coordinate the retail marketing pipeline across markets, ensuring priorities, timelines, and local rollout activities remain visible and aligned.
-
Brief and manage POS and display design projects, source and commission suppliers, oversee production schedules, and coordinate the distribution and inventory of retail materials.
-
Adapt global brand assets for European markets and develop new regional solutions when existing materials do not meet local requirements.
-
Lead the European retail marketing rollout of product launches, coordinating between regional sales teams and global brand stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
-
Design retail staff engagement initiatives, including product knowledge resources, training formats, and incentive concepts, for implementation by local market teams.
-
Develop community-facing activation formats, such as community runs, that support retail engagement and partner objectives.
-
Prepare and facilitate recurring European retail reviews with regional leadership and Country Managers to prioritize campaigns and opportunities across markets.
-
Collaborate with international retail and events teams and headquarters stakeholders on creative assets, campaign materials, and execution requirements.
-
Monitor retail presence and activation performance, using data and insights to guide future investments and priorities.
-
Make independent spending decisions within approved project budgets and proactively identify opportunities to improve retail marketing impact.
Requirements
The ideal candidate combines strong retail marketing expertise with hands-on production experience, excellent project management skills, and the ability to coordinate initiatives across multiple European markets.
-
At least 5 years of experience in retail marketing, trade marketing, or brand activation.
-
Experience in sports, outdoor, consumer electronics, or a comparable branded consumer goods environment is preferred.
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
-
Proven track record of developing and executing point-of-sale concepts, in-store brand experiences, and retail campaigns with measurable results.
-
Practical experience briefing creative and design projects, commissioning suppliers, managing production timelines, and coordinating the delivery of physical marketing materials within budget.
-
Experience managing marketing initiatives across multiple markets, cultures, and time zones, balancing different commercial priorities.
-
Demonstrated ability to coordinate product launches across multiple channels and markets.
-
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage several parallel workstreams while maintaining attention to detail.
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with sales teams, commercial stakeholders, and international colleagues.
-
Self-motivated and resourceful mindset, with the confidence to propose initiatives, take ownership, and make independent decisions.
-
Fluency in written and spoken English; an additional European language is an advantage.
-
Willingness to travel regularly across Europe.
-
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for retail activations and events, with time off in lieu.
Benefits
-
Annual base salary starting at €55,000, with the possibility of an additional performance-based bonus. Final compensation depends on experience, background, and location.
-
Fully remote working arrangement within the EU or UK, with the option for hybrid work near an office location.
-
Local employment contract based on the country of residence.
-
25 days of paid vacation, in addition to standard local public holidays.
-
Access to company products and discounts for family and friends.
-
Opportunity to build a growing retail marketing function from the ground up.
-
High level of autonomy and room to develop and implement new ideas.
-
