Position summary

We are looking for a motivated Senior Production Technologist to join our engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. You will optimise the production performance of our clients’ existing and new assets and contribute to Ad Terra’s own portfolio, working closely with the reservoir, wells and production/process teams.

Responsibilities

- Well performance and nodal analysis to optimise offtake and economics over the well life

- Integrated production modelling, asset performance analysis and debottlenecking studies

- Identify production uplift opportunities; run well and production surveillance programmes

- QA/QC production data, advise on allocation and prepare short-term production forecasts

- Select, design and monitor artificial lift systems (ESP, PCP, gas lift, jet pump, rod pump)

- Conceptual well and completion design; maintain completion database and schematics

- Contribute to well proposals and advise on workovers and well interventions

- Conduct well-by-well reviews to mature intervention opportunities; design well test plans

- Review field performance with reservoir, geoscience, well and process engineers

- Present results and recommendations to clients and prepare technical reports

- Apply oil and gas production expertise to geothermal and CCUS projects

- Track emerging technologies and apply the latest production optimisation methods

- Lead multidisciplinary projects (scope, budget, schedule, risk) and mentor young engineers

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attributes

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering

- 8–12 years of relevant experience, including time with an operating company

- Operational exposure (drilling/completion, well interventions/integrity, surface facilities)

- Proficiency in production modelling tools (e.g. PIPESIM, Petex IPM)

- Excellent written and spoken English

- Strong analytical skills

- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across time zones

- Team spirit, flexibility, start-up mindset and business awareness

- Exposure to geothermal, CCUS or lithium projects is a plus

- Python and VBA skills are a plus
