About the role
About the role
The Senior Service Readiness Specialist leads service readiness across new product introductions (NPI), significant product changes, and the sustaining product lifecycle, ensuring products are prepared for global service deployment at launch and remain supportable throughout their lifecycle.
Working across Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Service Operations, Commercial, and Market teams, the role acts as a central owner and coordinator for service readiness. A core accountability is Spare Parts Lifecycle Management: translating product and service requirements into controlled Service BOMs and parts records, driving accurate parts creation and maintenance in enterprise systems, and managing parts through launch, change, rationalisation, obsolescence, and end-of-life.
Key responsibilities
Spare Parts Lifecycle Management & Service BOM Governance
• Own and govern the end-to-end spare parts lifecycle from product development and NPI through launch, sustaining changes, rationalisation, obsolescence, last-time-buy planning, and end-of-life.
• Develop, maintain, validate, and release Service BOMs / Master Parts Lists, including part-to-product relationships, service assemblies, alternate/substitute parts, supersessions, effectivity, configuration and revision control.
• Drive accurate creation and maintenance of material/part masters and service part records in PLM/PDM and ERP systems.
• Translate engineering BOMs and engineering changes into controlled downstream service parts requirements.
• Ensure data quality and traceability across Engineering, PLM/PDM, ERP, Supply Chain, and Service.
• Drive launch readiness for service parts, including approved specifications, sourcing, system setup, availability, allocation, and market release.
Service Readiness, NPI & Operations
• Lead end-to-end service readiness for NPI and significant product changes, with clear milestones, deliverables, success criteria and sign-off.
• Embed service requirements and parts strategy during product development, validation and launch planning, supporting Design for Serviceability.
• Coordinate readiness of service parts and assemblies, repair procedures, manuals, technical documentation, diagnostics, tooling, training and customer-support content.
• Identify and mitigate readiness risks and launch blockers; maintain dashboards, trackers and executive reporting; lead closure through cross-functional action plans.
• Facilitate readiness reviews and governance across Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality & Reliability, Customer Service, Refurbishment Operations, Service Design and Regional Market teams.
• Monitor post-launch service performance and field feedback, manage sustaining changes, and drive lessons learned and continuous improvement.
About you
Essential experience
• Proven hands-on experience in Spare Parts Lifecycle Management within engineering, manufacturing, service, aftersales, or product support.
• Proven experience creating, structuring, maintaining and governing BOMs, preferably Service BOMs / Master Parts Lists and service assemblies.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining parts/material records in PLM/PDM, ERP, or equivalent systems, with understanding of data quality, configuration, effectivity, revision and change control.
• Experience managing parts from NPI through launch, sustaining changes, supersession, obsolescence, rationalisation and end-of-life.
• Experience translating engineering BOMs, configurations and engineering changes into downstream service parts requirements.
• Experience supporting product launches and leading complex cross-functional deliverables in fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environments.
