About the role

About Glia

Glia is the #1 Banking AI platform, empowering community and regional financial institutions to create efficiencies, accelerate loan growth, drive deposits, and deliver experiences that win against megabanks and fintechs.

Glia's Banking AI Operating System is a central intelligence layer on top of existing tech stacks, activating an AI workforce of specialized agents that draw from banking data, interaction history, and integrated systems of record. These banking-trained agents automate workflows across voice and digital–from front office to back office–resulting in decreased operational costs and the Universal Banker model.

Trusted by 700+ banks and credit unions for its ironclad security and reliability, Glia delivers the industry’s first contractual no-hallucination guarantee. It’s why Glia customers quickly and confidently put Banking AI to work with measurable results from day one. More information about Glia can be found at glia.com http://glia.com.

The Mission & The Work

In this role, you will join the Media team. Your mission will be to build rich media solutions that power deep interactions for Glia’s customers. You will be a force multiplier whose work directly impacts the successful execution of our very ambitious Voice+AI roadmap.

Our Collaboration Model

We’re an office-first team based in Tartu. Most of us work from the office most days because we do our best work together: pairing and the conversations that never happen on Slack. We’re flexible when life calls for a day at home. Twice a year, the wider engineering team gets together in Estonia to plan, innovate, and connect.

What We’re Looking for

We are looking for a high-ownership Senior Software Engineer who thrives on technical variety. While our core needs involve Elixir or Ruby, we strongly value architectural thinking with drive and ability to learn fast over language loyalty. You should be prepared to work across different stacks, selecting and mastering the best tool for the challenge at hand.

- Experience: 5+ years of professional development with a proven track record of leading complex projects and owning system outcomes.

- System Design: Demonstrable expertise in building and maintaining scalable, highly available, and reliable distributed systems.

- Technical Foundation: Strong mastery of design principles and patterns, and containerized cloud infrastructure (AWS).

- Engineering Excellence: Committed to TDD, CI/CD best practices, and the deliberate use of AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code) while maintaining full accountability for code quality.

Special skills and experience that can make you an especially strong team member

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in real-time communication and low-latency systems. Professional experience in the following is a significant advantage:

- Real-Time Media: Development of streaming applications (e.g., WebRTC).

- Telephony/VoIP: Practical experience with SIP/VoIP protocols, FreeSWITCH, or Kamailio.

- Architecture: Familiarity with event-driven architecture.

No problem if you miss these qualifications. If you find it interesting to learn them, do still apply.

Our Tech Stack

- Backend: Elixir, Ruby

- Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, Terraform

- Databases & Persistence: PostgreSQL (RDS), DynamoDB, Redis

- Event Streaming & Messaging: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ

- AI: Amazon Bedrock, Claude Code, Google Gemini

- CI/CD & Build Tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD

- Monitoring: DataDog, Sentry.
