About the role

About the team
As an SEO Product Manager on Zillow's Traffic team, you'll join the group that owns search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) across Zillow Group brands, including Zillow, Trulia, and HotPads. Our mission is to protect and grow the organic visits that bring millions of people to Zillow every month, in traditional search results and in AI-generated answers alike. Senior product managers on the team own the strategy for each major area, and we partner closely with engineering, analytics, content, and marketing to find what moves visibility, prove it through rapid experimentation, and ship it at scale.
About the role
The SEO Product Manager turns the team's strategy into shipped, measurable results. You'll own a defined set of SEO surfaces and experiments within the Traffic portfolio, decide what to tackle first based on impact, and get it built, often by building it yourself with AI coding tools. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves to ship, wants to learn how every part of Zillow's organic growth engine fits together, and is looking for a clear path to grow into larger ownership.

You will get to

- Own and grow a defined space within the Traffic portfolio (for example, new construction search visibility, landing pages, and calculators), prioritizing the work with the biggest impact on organic visits and AI visibility.

- Run SEO experiments at a steady cadence, including internal linking tests and page-type experiments, and turn the results into clear recommendations and rollouts.

- Build and ship with AI coding tools (for example, Claude Code): stand up landing pages, calculators, prototypes, and experiments directly, and partner with engineers when the work needs to go further.

- Scale programmatic and community-driven pages, such as agent and professional directory pages with reviews and insights, forums, and local highlights.

- Partner with our content lead on long-form content production and optimization, including automating the data inside content so it stays accurate and current.

- Work with engineering to translate SEO requirements (crawling, rendering, indexing, structured data, and internal linking) into clearly scoped work, and verify that what ships does what was intended.

- Measure what you ship using search, analytics, and AI visibility data, and share results and trade-offs in clear, concise updates.

- Support teammates across the Traffic team where help is needed most, building a working knowledge of the whole system.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $128,600.00 - $205,400.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia the standard base pay range for this role is $122,200.00 - $195,200.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.
Who you are

- 5+ years of related experience in SEO, growth, product management, or a closely related field (or 3+ years with a Master's degree), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Solid SEO fundamentals across both technical SEO (crawling, rendering, indexing, structured data, internal linking) and content SEO.

- Working knowledge of generative engine optimization: you use AI search tools yourself and can explain what you have tested to get a brand surfaced in AI-generated answers.

- Hands-on experience with AI coding and building tools, used to ship real pages, tools, or experiments (not only to draft documents).

- Experience designing and running experiments, such as A/B tests or SEO split tests, and measuring outcomes with tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

- A track record of owning work end to end: you can state the goal, the metric, what you shipped, and what happened.

- Strong prioritization skills: you can pick the few things that matter most from a long list and explain why.

- Clear, concise communication in writing and in person; you lead with the answer and make complex ideas easy to follow.

- A people-first approach to SEO: you favor helpful content and sustainable practices over shortcuts.

- Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.

Preferred skills

- Experience at a large marketplace, aggregator, or publisher with a large programmatic page footprint (for example, real estate, travel, local discovery, jobs, or e-commerce).

- Comfort with SQL and/or Python for analysis and automation.

- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how modern websites render.

- Experience with enterprise SEO platforms and AI visibility tracking tools.

- Real estate or home-related domain knowledge.
