Job Description:
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to accelerate account recovery, address payment denials and rejections, and maximize revenue through effective reimbursement strategies.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in healthcare accounts receivable, payment follow-up, and denial management, along with a solid understanding of healthcare billing processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Examine accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding insurance claims.

- Prepare and submit corrected claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements and timely filing deadlines.

- Contact insurance carriers to check claim status, investigate payment delays, and address underpayments.

- Resolve denied and rejected claims by researching denial reasons, preparing appeals, and following through on outstanding cases.

- Gather supporting documentation and work with billing, coding, and clinical teams to address claim discrepancies.

- Resolve claims held in pre-submission queues.

- Identify recurring denial patterns and recommend process improvements to minimize future claim rejections.

- Keep accurate records of claim follow-ups, payer communications, and resolution outcomes.

- Adhere to applicable insurance regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.

Qualifications

- At least 2 years of experience in healthcare accounts receivable, insurance follow-up, or denial management.

- Hands-on experience working with both commercial and governmental payers.

- Knowledge of corrected claims, appeals, payer billing requirements, and timely filing limits.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to investigate claim issues, prioritize outstanding accounts, and work toward timely resolution.
