We’re looking for a technically savvy Actuarial Pricing Associate to join the UK team and support pricing adequacy, accuracy, and competitiveness of our European products. You will contribute your actuarial expertise as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes data scientists, insurance Product and Underwriting professionals. Working in collaboration, you’ll help develop and implement new pricing capabilities that blend actuarial approaches with predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL
- Help shape our UK pricing strategy, balancing profitable growth, competitive prices and great customer outcomes.
- Turn trading data into action, digging into conversion, retention, risk mix and profitability to spot opportunities and explain what’s changing.
- Build a deep understanding of competitor pricing and our position on price comparison websites, using those insights to improve how we price.
- Own pricing changes from idea to launch, testing their impact and tracking what happens once they’re live.
- Partner with Data Science, Product and Underwriting to bring together predictive models, customer behaviour and commercial insight.
- Bring your UK insurance expertise to our global team, sharing knowledge and challenging assumptions to help us make better decisions.
- Help build a faster, smarter pricing engine through automation, experimentation and thoughtful use of AI.
- Further your actuarial education through industry research and stay on top of changing regulatory requirements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 3–5 years of UK personal lines pricing experience, including hands-on commercial or street pricing.
- A strong understanding of how the UK insurance market works, with practical experience of price comparison websites, competitor pricing and customer behaviour.
- A track record of turning analysis into pricing changes that deliver measurable results.
- Strong SQL and Python or R skills, with confidence exploring data independently and checking that your conclusions hold up.
- Commercial judgement and curiosity: you ask good questions, challenge assumptions and connect the numbers to what’s happening in the market.
- Clear communication skills and enthusiasm for sharing your UK market knowledge with colleagues across the business.
- Working knowledge of UK pricing/insurance regulations
- Enthusiasm for learning and working with AI, and exploring how it can improve the way we price and work.
- UK home pricing experience is a strong plus, as are actuarial qualifications and experience with demand modelling or optimisation.
- Ability to work from our London office.
- Commitment in obtaining FIA (Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries) or FFA (Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries)
- Master’s degree in mathematics / econometrics / actuarial science / related field preferred
