About the role

Job Description:

About our Team
Each year, Dow Jones produces 200+ events globally across all of its brands. This multi-million dollar business connects our audiences with the newsmakers, ideas, industries, and communities they read about across our publications and products. Dow Jones has ambitious growth plans for the Events business, with a focus on scaling existing franchises, developing new products, attracting new and diverse audiences, strengthening communities, and building new revenue streams across WSJ, Consumer, B2B, Risk, Energy, Journal House, Custom, and premium brand experiences.

Dow Jones Events is dedicated to creating trusted, high-quality experiences that inform, connect, and engage our audiences in person and virtually. The team leads the event space through editorial authority, commercial innovation, immersive experiences, and globally relevant programming. We are regularly expanding existing franchises, developing new event products across Dow Jones brands, identifying new partnership opportunities, and building stronger event concepts that drive sponsorship revenue, audience growth, and long-term business value.

About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategy & Operations, and working in our London Bridge Street office 3 days a week, the Business Operations Lead will support the day-to-day management and performance of the Dow Jones Events Business, with responsibility for business reporting, resource planning, portfolio tracking, and operational processes. They will maintain key tools and documentation, including performance reports, global event calendars, resourcing documents, project plans, and management updates, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and useful for business planning and decision-making. The role will also identify opportunities to streamline workflows, use AI and automation to improve ways of working, and reduce manual tasks and administrative effort.

Working closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Content Operations, Events, Membership, Finance, Communications, and other functions, the Business Operations Lead will coordinate planning, monitor project milestones and deliverables, and follow up on actions to keep priorities on track. They will support competitive research and business analysis, prepare materials for leadership meetings, and help communicate performance, progress, and key issues across the business. The role will also contribute to initiatives that strengthen team engagement and culture, promote inclusive ways of working, and foster collaboration across global teams.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong Excel, reporting, and data management skills. They will have experience coordinating projects, maintaining operational trackers and resource plans, and improving processes. They should be comfortable using AI tools to identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and build more efficient ways of working, alongside an interest in exploring new technologies to improve productivity. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and take a proactive, solutions-focused approach. This is a London-based role, working closely with colleagues across EMEA, APAC, and the US.
