This senior individual contributor reports to the Director of Strategy, Planning & Operations and Chief of Staff, and owns budget accuracy, KPI performance, and financial accountability for each leader in their portfolio, ensuring every plan, investment, and headcount decision ladders to the organization's financial and business priorities. Working alongside the team's Lead and in close partnership with Finance, you will run the internal monthly flash process for your executives, drive risk mitigation, and lead Long Term Planning for your portfolio. You will also play a key role in elevating how the organization tells its story through data and bringing a mindset of continuous improvement and automation to everything the team does.
Key responsibilities
Executive portfolio ownership
- Serve as the primary business planning and financial partner to three to four executives reporting to the Chief of Corporate Affairs.
- Own budget accuracy for each leader in your portfolio, ensuring all financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Partner with each leader to define meaningful KPIs, then track, report, and drive performance against them to ensure success.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with portfolio leaders, serving as their go to resource for business planning, financial questions, and priority tradeoffs.
Internal monthly flash and financial accountability
- Host and run the internal monthly flash process for each executive in your portfolio, collaborating with Finance to review actuals, forecasts, and performance against targets.
- Deliver internal monthly flash and status reporting for each executive, providing a clear view of actuals, forecast, targets, and open actions.
- Hold portfolio leaders accountable to their targets, goals, and financial commitments, working closely with Finance partners and the financial planning team to track progress and keep commitments on course.
- Proactively identify and flag risks and opportunities before they impact results.
- When risks arise, partner with Finance and financial planners to develop risk mitigation plans, document owners and actions, and hold leaders accountable for delivery.
Long Term Planning and headcount
- Lead the Long Term Planning (LTP) process for your portfolio, partnering with Finance and financial planners to build plans that reflect each leader's priorities.
- Ensure all headcount, headcount costs, and investment asks are appropriately represented on behalf of each leader.
- Ensure every plan and request ladders clearly to the Chief of Corporate Affairs' financial and business priorities and objectives.
Data visualization and reporting
- Bring data visualization to the forefront of how the team reports, turning complex financial and performance data into clear, compelling visuals.
- Standardize reporting templates and slides across internal flash reviews, business reviews, and leadership updates, creating a consistent look and structure leaders can rely on.
- Partner with the team's Lead, who owns the quarterly one page white paper for the Chief of Corporate Affairs and their direct reports, to provide the content, data, and insights behind it, including upcoming milestones and timelines, key priorities, big wins, and risks, so the full leadership team stays aligned. Work alongside the Program Manager, AI & Business Operations to help shape the narrative.
- Craft clean data storytelling that highlights what matters, explains why it matters, and makes the recommended action obvious.
- Continuously refine and improve reporting materials based on leader feedback and evolving business needs.
- Build and maintain dashboards that give portfolio leaders and the Chief of Corporate Affairs clear visibility into budget, KPI, and headcount performance.
Team leadership and mentorship
- Mentor, guide, and teach the Program Manager, AI & Business Operations, providing regular feedback, coaching, and direction on priorities and quality of work.
- Help build the Program Manager's financial and business acumen through hands on involvement in budgeting, the internal monthly flash process, and planning cycles.
- Oversee select team deliverables and lean in across the team on all fronts wherever support is needed.
- Partner closely with and learn from the team's Lead, building the strategic perspective and leadership capability to grow within the function.
Continuous improvement and team operating rhythm
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve and automate how the team plans, tracks, and reports, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.
- Keep financial files, trackers, and planning materials clean, organized, and easy to use.
- Partner with the team's Lead and the Program Manager, AI & Business Operations to run a weekly team update covering status, targets, open items, and risks.
