At Valtech, you’ll find an environment designed for continuous learning, meaningful impact, and professional growth. Whether you're pioneering new digital solutions, challenging conventional thinking or building the next generation of customer experiences, your work will help transform industries.

We are proud of:

- The work we do and the innovation we drive

- Our values of share, care a nd dare

- Our borderless, global framework, which enables seamless collaboration

The role

As a  Data&AI Director , you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 12+ YEARS  of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.

Valtech is hiring a Senior Director, Data & AI, to help us win and deliver our most complex client engagements across the Americas, with a particular focus on industrial and manufacturing clients. You’ll shape and lead strategic pursuits, serve as technical lead on a portion of the work we win, and raise the bar for the teams that build and run it.

This is a player-coach role. About half your time is client-billable, typically as technical lead on two engagements. The rest goes to pursuits, solution quality, staffing support, and the reusable assets that help the practice scale. You’ll report to the VP and Head of Data & AI, Americas, and you’ll own real decisions on the pursuits and solutions you lead from your first day.

You will thrive in this role if you are:

- A curious problem solver who challenges the status quo

- A collaborator who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing

- Excited by the intersection of technology, creativity and data

- Experienced in Agile methodologies and consulting (a plus)

Our point of view

Deployment isn’t the finish line, it’s game day. We focus on getting AI into production and keeping it there, which means the data, platform, evaluation, and operating foundations matter as much as the model. You’ll carry that point of view into client conversations and into the work itself.

What you'll do

Win

- Lead Data & AI pursuits from qualification through signed SOW: shape the solution, model the Data & AI economics (inference, infrastructure, and platform costs), build the estimate, structure the scope, and lead the orals.

- Make go/no-go calls on the pursuits you lead, with a clear view of value, risk, and our ability to deliver.

- Turn broad client ambitions into phased programs that prove value early and create the foundation for scale.

- Raise the quality of pursuits led by others through solution reviews and direct coaching.

Deliver

- Serve as technical lead on two client engagements at a time, owning architecture, technical risk, and quality.

- Make sure AI solutions have the data, platform, evaluation, observability, and support foundations they need to run in production.

- Be the senior technical voice clients trust when tradeoffs get hard.

Lead

- Own solution sign-off on the pursuits and engagements you lead, and help shape staffing across the practice’s data science, AI, data engineering, and platform work.

- Partner with analytics, measurement, and optimization leaders so solutions connect to business outcomes.

- Lead through influence. The role starts without direct reports and shapes how senior practitioners across the practice work.

- Interview candidates for data science, AI, data engineering, and platform roles, and help us attract strong senior talent.

Build

- Turn delivery experience into reference architectures, estimating models, and solution patterns other teams reuse.

- Help build our point of view and support pursuits in industrial, manufacturing, agriculture, and distribution businesses, working with our industry and client leaders.

- Use AI tools in your own work and help the practice adopt them responsibly.

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

- Typically 12 or more years in data, analytics, and AI, including at least 5 in consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery roles where you led multiple engagements at once.

- Hands-on depth in both AI and agentic solution design and modern data platform architecture. You can design either, lead technical teams on both, and hold your own with client architects.

- Deep, recent experience with at least one of Databricks, Google Cloud, or Microsoft data and AI platforms, and working fluency across the other two.

- A record of shaping and winning enterprise pursuits: solutioning, estimating, scoping, and presenting to executive buyers.

- Executive presence. You form a clear point of view, defend it under pressure, and change your mind when the evidence calls for it.

- Comfort with pace. You do your best work when priorities shift, several clients need you at once, and the answer is needed today.

- Experience delivering data or AI work for industrial, manufacturing, agriculture, or distribution businesses.

Nice to have qualifications

- French language skills.

- Current certifications from Databricks, Google Cloud, or Microsoft.

- A public point of view on enterprise AI, such as published articles or conference talks.

What success looks like in your first year

- You’ve led pursuits we won, and you’re the technical lead on work you helped sell.

- Clients and internal teams seek out your technical judgment.

- Our pursuits are sharper because of your solution reviews, estimates, and orals coaching.

- Other teams reuse assets you built, and you’ve helped strengthen our credibility with industrial and manufacturing clients.

If you do not meet all the listed qualifications or have gaps in your experience, we still encourage you to apply. At Valtech, we recognize that talent comes in many forms, and we value diverse perspectives and a willingness to learn.
