Summary of Job Duties:
The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs transthoracic, exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms on adult patients utilizing appropriate techniques (M-Mode, 2D, Doppler Color Flow, Spectral Doppler, and bubble studies).
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma/GED Plus Graduation from an accredited Medical Sonography Program.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Cardiac ultrasound experience, including treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing

- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within one year of hire

- Must complete registry within one year of employment.

- Current BLS

Responsibilities:

- Performs ultrasound imaging, identifies anomalies and makes independent protocol decisions based on findings to assist primary care providers with diagnosing patients.

- Obtains, reviews and integrates pertinent patient history and clinical data to facilitate optimal diagnostic results.

- Maintains sonographic and other equipment in efficient operating order.

- Sets up for and assists the physician or licensed provider with procedures and examinations.

- Completes billing and coding information for performed procedures.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
