- Supporting design, construction, and project delivery activities in line with CDM regulations.
- Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to colleagues, apprentices, technicians, and operational teams.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for hazardous area electrical equipment and DSEAR compliance across the wider business.
- Supporting audits, competency assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives within the DSEAR programme.
About You
You'll be a technically capable engineer with strong experience working in hazardous areas and a thorough understanding of electrical compliance within high-risk industrial environments.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Strong practical experience working with hazardous area electrical equipment and DSEAR compliance.
- Knowledge of BS EN 60079 standards, ATEX principles, and explosion protection techniques.
- Experience carrying out inspections of electrical equipment within classified hazardous areas.
- The ability to interpret hazardous area classification drawings, equipment certification, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of intrinsically safe systems and electrical protection concepts.
- Experience preparing technical reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.

- A methodical approach to identifying risks and implementing practical, compliant solutions.
- Experience supporting contractors and reviewing technical proposals and remedial works.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
