Your Role

As an EHS Engineer, you will support Aptiv Connection Systems Tangier in ensuring safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, and other functions to integrate EHS requirements into daily operations, equipment, industrial projects, and construction activities. You will help prevent injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents through risk assessment, prevention, and effective change management. The role will also support regulatory compliance and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 requirements. Your contribution will help strengthen Aptiv’s EHS culture while supporting safe, sustainable, and efficient operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Lead and maintain EHS risk assessments covering workstations, machinery, chemicals, ergonomics, and high-risk activities, ensuring corrective actions are followed through to closure.

- Manage machinery safety and change management requirements for new, transferred, modified, and leased equipment, including Design for EHS, SOW reviews, functional safety validation, LOTO, machine acceptance, and EHS release.

- Ensure compliance with Moroccan EHS legislation and support mandatory inspections, ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 audits, customer CSR audits, and inspections by external authorities.

- Manage environmental requirements, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste, environmental aspects, emissions, consumption monitoring, energy-efficiency initiatives, and required traceability documentation.

- Coordinate fire safety and emergency preparedness activities, including fire protection inspections, emergency exits, drills, and emergency plan updates.

- Lead or support incident investigations using root cause analysis methods such as 5-Why and Ishikawa, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified.

- Deliver EHS training and inductions for employees and contractors, conduct Safety Observation Tours, and maintain EHS KPIs and dashboards for management reviews.

- Support EHS requirements for industrial projects, new buildings, plant start-ups, extensions, refurbishment and transformation activities, including contractor safety management.

Your Background

- Master’s or Engineering degree (Bac+5) in Health, Safety & Environment, Industrial Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, Energy Efficiency, or a related field.

- Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment , preferably automotive, including cable, wiring harness, connectors, electronics, plastics/molding, or a similar industry.

- Strong experience in risk assessment methods such as ISO 12100, HIRA and JSA, together with machinery safety, LOTO, high-risk work, and industrial EHS requirements.

- Good knowledge of Moroccan EHS legislation, ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 management systems, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.

- Experience supporting industrial projects, new equipment introduction, construction activities, or contractor safety; knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 13849 and IEC 60204-1 is an advantage.

- Additional certifications in safety, NEBOSH, ISO 45001 / ISO 14001, or functional safety are considered an asset.

- Advanced English and French required, with Arabic proficiency; strong communication, coordination, prioritization, and influencing skills.
