Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the sales team in covering corporate and institutional accounts — including banks, securities houses, asset managers and hedge funds — primarily in Hong Kong and Macau, providing the relationship and analytical backbone that enables Sales to focus on revenue generation.
- Develop and maintain strong, senior-level client relationships to enhance business opportunities and support the sales process; act as a credible, knowledgeable counterpart in client meetings, KYC refreshes and credit-related discussions.
- Conduct regular and thorough financial analysis and credit reviews in accordance with company guidelines, ensuring that clients' financial health, suitability for products and ongoing exposures are accurately assessed and documented.
- Collaborate with the sales team in account planning — analyze clients' businesses, exposures and wallet potential, and translate insights into tailored sales solutions and cross-product opportunities.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal stakeholders — Risk (to obtain and renew credit limits), Compliance (to manage onboarding and KYC) — to ensure timely execution and maximize wallet share from the identified client franchise.
- Partner with the sales team to identify and unlock cross-border opportunities (including Greater Bay Area flows between Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China) where applicable, leveraging familiarity with local regulatory frameworks and institutional client practices.
Qualification:
- Minimum of 10+ years of proven experience in corporate / institutional banking, relationship management, FICC or capital markets; prior experience covering banks, securities houses, asset managers and hedge funds is strongly preferred.
- Strong senior-level client network across Hong Kong and Macau institutional accounts (banks, securities houses, asset managers, hedge funds); demonstrated ability to build and deepen relationships at CFO, treasurer, head of trading and CIO levels.
- Solid credit analysis and financial review capability — comfortable with company guideline-based reviews of financial health, exposures and product suitability; CPA, ACRP or FRM designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with sales team on wallet-share expansion, account planning and tailored client solutions; track record of cross-selling across FICC products (rates, credit, FX) is a plus
- Familiarity with Hong Kong and Macau monetary policies, regulatory frameworks and institutional client practices; exposure to cross-border / Greater Bay Area flows is a strong plus.
- Strong cross-functional coordination skills — proven ability to work with Risk (limits), Compliance (KYC) and onboarding, Middle / Back Office (settlement) to remove bottlenecks.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, FRM, HKSI Paper 1, ACRP, or ESG-related designations are preferred.
- Trilingual fluency: English, Cantonese and Mandarin required (the role requires extensive interaction with English-, Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking institutional clients).
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Finance) or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
