About The Role
The Finance Operations Manager will lead inventory-focused finance operations, internal controls, process improvement, and financial governance across the end-to-end inventory lifecycle. Working at the intersection of Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Operations, IT, and Internal Audit, this role ensures inventory transactions are properly controlled, accurately reflected in the financial statements, and supported by scalable operational processes.
The role will oversee inventory transaction governance, disposition management, inventory valuation, in-transit inventory and accruals, operational audit readiness and data validation. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of finance and operations experience, with strong knowledge of ERP controls, process improvement, and cross-functional operational workflows, as well as demonstrated leadership in coordinating operationally focused audits.
What You Will Do
- Operational Audit Coordination: Lead and coordinate all operationally focused internal and external audits, serving as the primary operational point of contact to provide supporting schedules, ticketing approvals, and inventory workflow documentation.
- ERP & Workflow Governance: Manage operational posting rules and automated write-off workflows in SAP, maintaining tight alignment between physical inventory movements and ledger entries.
- Inventory Operations: Oversee key finance-related inventory activities, including PPV, RMA/RTV, aging, rework, STOs, stranded inventory, and other operational inventory matters.
- Inventory Valuation Oversight: Collaborate on monthly inventory valuation reviews, analyzing weighted average cost versus standard cost variances and coordinating data inputs between internal audit, inventory governance, and finance leadership.
- Disposition Management: Drive inventory disposition strategy and controls in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain to maximize recovery, minimize write-offs, and ensure appropriate financial treatment. Oversee monthly disposition reviews and ensure scrap requests are properly supported and approved in Jira according to the authorization matrix before posting in SAP.
- In-Transit Inventory & Month-End Close: Oversee vendor/AP reconciliations, open PO reviews, in-transit inventory, accruals, aging balances, and related month-end activities.
- Audit, Controls & Process Improvement: Lead operational audit and SOX support, maintain control documentation, remediate control gaps, and drive standardization, automation, and process improvement across Finance Operations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, inventory control, operational accounting, or supply chain finance
- 0–3 years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing team members.
- Strong experience with internal controls, operational audits, and process improvement in an inventory or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of inventory valuation, cost variances, disposition/write-offs, and in-transit inventory/accruals.
- Strong proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems and workflow tools such as Jira.
- Solid understanding of inventory transaction flows, reconciliations, and financial impacts across inventory, COGS, margin, and P&L.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
