JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX News is looking for a Freelance Technical Director to join our Washington, D.C. Bureau. In this role, you operate the control room for live news programming and help ensure that all visual elements are produced seamlessly in a fast-paced, 24/7 news environment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Direct live, fast-paced productions across the FOX News networks

- Collaborate with producers, graphic designers, and editorial leaders to enhance show production

- Provide creative and technical input during the development of new shows

- Organize and maintain switcher files, visual effects, and peripheral equipment within the technical director area

- Monitor video workflows and troubleshoot technical issues in real time

- Maintain a calm, professional, and collaborative presence in the control room

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience

- 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience

- Experience as a Technical Director in a live news or broadcast environment

- Knowledge of switchers, DVE's, device controllers, and video servers

- Excellent control room demeanor, leadership skills, and a team-oriented approach

- Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a high-pressure environment

- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, processes, and procedures

- Strong interest in current events

- Flexibility and willingness to work weekends and any shift within a 24-hour schedule, including during breaking news

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $40.00-50.00 per hour.
