Job Purpose
- The Senior Solutions Analyst leads discovery and analysis for defined business problems, translating business needs into clear requirements, functional solution designs and evidence-based recommendations.
- The role considers the full impact of proposed solutions across business processes, colleague experience, data, integrations, reporting, security, controls and operational support.
- You will support the analysis, functional design, impact assessment, acceptance criteria and validation of delivered outcomes. You will work with Product and Solution Leads, technical teams and vendors to progress approved solutions through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse business requirements & shape solutions
- Support discovery and analysis for defined business problems, establishing the underlying need before determining the technology response.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand objectives, pain points, constraints and desired outcomes.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, identifying control requirements, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business needs into solutioning requirements.
- Develop and compare solution options, considering business value, colleague experience, risk, complexity, cost and long-term maintainability.
- Use demonstrations, prototypes and show-and-tell sessions to validate concepts and obtain early stakeholder feedback.
- Produce clear recommendations and decision materials for Product and Solution Leads and relevant governance forums.
Protect solution integrity
- Develop practical, scalable functional solution designs within agreed architecture, product principles, security standards, controls and governance.
- Document recommended approaches, assumptions, trade-offs and design rationale.
- Challenge requirements or proposed solutions that introduce unnecessary complexity, duplication, customisation or technical debt.
- Recommend simpler and more sustainable alternatives where appropriate.
- Assess end-to-end impacts across business processes, colleague experience, data, integrations, reporting, security, controls and operational support.
- Ensure designs address applicable privacy, security, access-control, audit and records-management requirements.
- Identify dependencies, constraints and risks before a solution progresses into delivery.
- Escalate material, high-risk or cross-platform decisions through the relevant Product or Solution Lead and governance forum.
Validate outcomes and support operational readiness
- Define clear acceptance criteria and appropriate functional test scenarios, maintaining traceability from the original business need through requirements, solution design and validation.
- Validate that delivered solutions align with the approved design, agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support functional, regression and business acceptance testing where required, working with delivery teams and business stakeholders to investigate defects and confirm expected outcomes.
- Assess relevant platform releases and product developments, identifying potential business impacts and improvement opportunities.
- Support the transition of delivered solutions into operational service, ensuring appropriate documentation, knowledge transfer and support ownership are in place.
- Provide solution-design expertise for escalated or recurring problems.
- Work with service teams and vendors to identify root causes and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
- Use incident, defect and service data to identify trends and recommend preventive improvements.
Build trusted relationships and improve
- Partner with P&C product owners, process owners, technology teams, service teams and vendors to shape feasible and sustainable solutions.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting options, recommendations, decisions and next steps.
- Manage defined priorities, dependencies and stakeholder expectations in a changing environment.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve colleague experience, strengthen data quality and reduce avoidable manual activity.
- Assess relevant SaaS developments, automation and emerging capabilities against Castrol’s business priorities and control requirements.
- Participate in relevant customer communities and user groups, sharing insight with the wider HR Tech & Product team.
- Share knowledge and provide practical support to other analysts, contributing to team capability and consistent ways of working
Required Experience
