Join us as a Junior Product Designer
- You'll be the designer in a cross-functional squad, working with Product and Engineering to turn real problems for small business owners into simple, well-crafted digital experiences.
- You'll grow your craft through weekly 1:1s, regular crits and a design team that shares work openly.
- This is your chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements, iterate outputs and support strategic initiative delivery, while growing your product design craft
What you’ll do
Work day to day with your Product Owner and Engineers to understand the problem, pick up design work and see it through to release. Take part in ideation sessions, exploring different directions collaboratively to find the best way forward.
Your work will focus on:
- Working iteratively, moving from early concepts and prototypes to clean build-ready screens.
- Designing intuitive journeys across mobile and web platforms, working through edge cases.
- Helping plan and run research sessions with support from the Research team, then turn what you learn into design changes.
- Designing within our design system, and raise gaps or inconsistencies when you find them.
- Learning and applying accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design practices from the start.
- Sharing work early in design and squad meetings, and use feedback to improve.
The skills you'll need
As our Junior Product Designer, you'll bring 1 to 2 years of product design experience (from a junior role, internship or similar), with a portfolio showing how you solve design problems.
You’ll also:
- Have good visual and interaction design basics: clean UI, clear hierarchy and attention to detail.
- Come with curiosity about user needs, and a willingness to use research, data and feedback to shape your designs.
- Care for craft and consistency, with tidy, well-structured files and a smooth handoff to Engineering.
- Be able to explain your design decisions clearly, and you're open to feedback and act on it.
- Enjoy getting stuck into problems, working out where to start and asking for help along the way.
