Job Description
Position: Breader/Batter Operator
Pay Rate: $20.10 per hour
Summary
The Breader/Batter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring batter and breading equipment used in the food manufacturing process. This position ensures products are coated according to specifications while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
Essential Responsibilities

- Set up and operate batter and breading equipment.

- Apply batter and breading to products according to specifications.

- Operate and monitor:
- Batter mixers

- Batter applicators

- Pre-dusters

- Breader machines

- Adjust machine controls as needed to maintain proper product specifications.

- Mix ingredients by adding flour and water to mixers.

- Monitor batter viscosity, refrigeration pumps, and meters.

- Make adjustments to equipment to ensure proper product quality and consistency.

- Turn on conveyors to air-dry equipment and inspect for broken webs.

- Add pre-dust and breading ingredients to machines as necessary.

- Perform batter pick-up checks and adjust equipment to keep product weights within specifications.

- Continuously monitor product appearance for:
- Even coating

- Proper coverage

- Desired color

- Maintain cleanliness of the work area.

- Follow all Tyson safety, food safety, quality, and operating procedures.

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements

- Must have 6 months of continuous employment with a single employer within the last 36 months of employment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the shift.

- Ability to work continuously in a fast-paced production environment.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively .

- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing.

- Basic math skills, including:
- Addition

- Subtraction

- Multiplication

- Division

- Ability to use basic measuring devices such as:
- Scales

- Gauges

- Ability to monitor equipment and make adjustments to maintain product specifications.

- Must be able to perform all essential job duties safely and effectively.

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged standing and walking.

- Frequent bending and stooping.

- Repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds.

- Continuous movement throughout the shift.

- Repetitive use of hands and arms while operating equipment and handling ingredients.
Preferred Experience
This posting does not specifically require prior machine operator or food manufacturing experience , but candidates with experience in:

- Food production

- Manufacturing

- Machine operation

- Mixing or batching processes

- Quality checks and measurements
would likely be strong candidates for the role.

Rehire Criteria

-      Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.

-  Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
