Your day at NTT DATA
The Oracle database engineer, specialist or architect supports complex Oracle database services and associated high-availability, recovery and performance technologies.

Key responsibilities

- Monitor Oracle databases, tablespaces, jobs, backups and performance.

- Resolve incidents involving availability, connectivity, capacity and performance.

- Install, configure, patch and upgrade Oracle database platforms.

- Manage backup and recovery using approved tools and procedures.

- Support Oracle RAC, Data Guard and other resilience technologies.

- Perform database and SQL performance tuning.

- Administer database access, auditing and security controls.

- Support migrations, upgrades and platform transformations.

- Automate health checks, reporting and recurring administration.

- Maintain database documentation, recovery procedures and configuration records.

- At senior levels, lead complex performance and recovery investigations.

- At L5, define Oracle database strategy, architecture and lifecycle plans.

Technical knowledge

- Oracle Database.

- Oracle RAC.

- Oracle Data Guard.

- Oracle Recovery Manager.

- Oracle Enterprise Manager.

- Performance diagnostics and SQL tuning.

- Linux or Unix operating environments.

- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure database services.

Relevant certifications

- Oracle Database Administration certification.

- Oracle RAC and Grid Infrastructure certification.

- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification.
