Chara Christian Dance Academy is hiring a part-time piano and guitar teacher to take over lessons for existing students, including advanced piano students. This position is based primarily at our Friendswood studio, with some lessons at our Pearland location.
We’re looking for an experienced music educator who can challenge developing musicians while making lessons encouraging, engaging, and enjoyable.
You’ll work with Music Director Cindy Fletcher and a collaborative team committed to positively impacting children and families through the performing arts!
About the Opportunity
• Teach existing piano and guitar students and support continuity in their musical development.
• Provide piano instruction through an advanced level, including technique, music reading, theory, repertoire, and interpretation.
• Plan guitar lessons appropriate to each student’s abilities and goals.
• Give students clear practice guidance and communicate progress to families.
• Build positive relationships that support student confidence, enjoyment, and continued participation.
Qualifications
• Prior experience teaching music lessons.
• Demonstrated ability to teach advanced piano—not just perform at an advanced level.
• Proficiency in guitar and the ability to teach guitar lessons.
• A patient, encouraging approach to working with children.
• Dependability, strong communication, and effective lesson planning.
• A completed or in-progress music degree is preferred.
Schedule & Locations
This is a part-time role with weekday evening availability needed within 4:30–8:00 p.m.
The current student schedule includes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening lessons, plus one Saturday class. We’re seeking an instructor who can take over these commitments. Exact times and any adjustments will be coordinated with students, families, and the instructor.
Teaching will take place primarily in Friendswood, with some lessons in Pearland. Weekly hours depend on the assigned lesson schedule.
Compensation
Hourly pay starts at $30.
