About the role
Job Description:
Location: Site based 5 days a week.
What are we looking for?
In this role, you are responsible for implementing new products, packaging, processes, and raw materials on-site. You will collaborate with Commercial and R&D to ensure that our products meet specifications and that production can be successfully scaled up in the factory.
Additionally, you will work closely with the Production team to optimize processes and eliminate unplanned losses from the factory floor. The core focus here is on eliminating chronic losses and non-value-added activities. Finally, you will support Operations in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues on the production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation Lead: Drive the validation of ingredients, products, packaging, and processes through the global PRP & PIT process. This includes conducting technical risk assessments, laboratory trials, feasibility trials, capability trials, and managing the final handover to Production.
Project delivery: ensure all SIT (site implementation team) initiatives are taken through the full Project implementation tools, risk assessments & handover to ensure project KPI’s and deliverables are met (eg TRS, RFT, KQA).
Support: Provide support to Operations regarding packaging and process challenges to resolve quality, capacity, and raw material availability issues.
Recipe Upscaling: Scale up recipes from pilot/development scale (R&D) to full factory production scale, and ensure characteristics are maintained vs the project goals.
Trials: coordinate, lead and report on production trials to test new product formulations, packaging materials and processes and how they interact with manufacturing equipment.
Standards Maintenance: Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as packaging and product specifications.
Data-Driven Improvement: Collect and analyse statistical data regarding process, product, and packaging performance to steer and prioritize the continuous improvement agenda.
Continuous improvement: Utilise problem solving techniques (DMAIC, PDCA, Kaizen) to identify and eliminate issues, test capability and feasibility with implementation projects. Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities to deliver against site CBN.
System ownership: ensure critical data systems such as Factory specifications, factory recipes and systems are accurate, up to date and correct for all changes and executions. Act as a custodian of product quality on site ensuring waivers, concessions and quality escalations are reviewed, aligned and signed accordingly.
Collaboration: Act as a liaison between global, European and site teams to ensure effective communication on implementation projects and attend project and site ATG’s (Activity Task Groups) to represent the site and its interest from Activity Brief to Handover. Working with commercial teams, support the qualification of new or changing raw materials and packaging based on business needs.
