About the role

ABOUT HIKE MEDICAL

Hike Medical is building the defining company in musculoskeletal care. We sit at the intersection of AI, robotics, and healthcare, operating across three product lines: a proprietary AI-vision platform that turns a 30-second, web-based foot scan into custom 3D-printed orthotics; an AI agent platform that automates the entire DME workflow from pre-visit processing through claims and revenue cycle; and SoleForge, our vertically integrated 3D-printing factory producing custom medical devices at a scale the industry has never seen.

Insoles today, full DME tomorrow, bionics by 2040. Custom insoles are just the wedge. Our long-term vision is bionics: AI-designed, robotically manufactured orthotic and prosthetic devices at scale, replacing a fragmented, manual industry that hasn’t changed in decades. Read the full vision at bionics2040.com http://bionics2040.com.

We've stealthily raised $22M through Seed and Series A, backed by top-tier investors who backed companies like OpenAI, Anduril, and Mercury early. We run a fast, results-first, high-ownership culture out of our new SF Rincon Hill office. If you want to work at the frontier of AI, manufacturing, and healthcare, this is the place.

THE ROLE

As a Product Designer, you will shape how clinicians and patients experience Hike, across the clinic, our AI platform, and our manufacturing. You will own experiences end to end, from discovery to shipped product, and help build Hike’s design foundation from the ground up.

Why this is career-defining

- You will design user experiences that turn into real applications that help people move without pain

- You will make powerful AI and manufacturing technology feel simple and trustworthy.

- You will own whole product experiences, not just screens.

- You will set the design language for a company redefining musculoskeletal care.

What you will work on

- Lead discovery with clinicians and customers to understand real workflows and find the right problems to solve.

- Design end-to-end experiences across mobile, web, and internal tools, from concept to shipped product.

- Design AI-powered workflows that people can trust, review, and act on.

- Build and evolve Hike’s design system and raise the quality bar across products.

- Partner closely with engineering to ship fast and iterate on what works.

What we look for

- 5+ years of product design, with a portfolio that shows your process and shipped work.

- Experience designing complex B2B, workflow, or data-heavy products.

- Strong interaction design and visual craft.

- Comfort running customer research and turning it into a clear direction.

- A candid communicator who gives and receives critique well.

What we ask

- In person in our San Francisco Rincon Hill office, 5 days a week.

- This is a hard job. Expect long hours and a high bar. In return the work is unusually rewarding, and you will see your impact quickly.

- High ownership and low bureaucracy. Results come first.
