Location: Queenstown Lakes District – base location by agreement, with flexible working options
Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per annum, depending on experience
About the opportunity
We're looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive person to join our growing People & Culture team as a Recruitment & HR Coordinator.
Working across a diverse group of businesses spanning hospitality, golf, wine and accommodation, you'll provide practical recruitment and HR coordination support, helping our managers and teams stay organised, get things done and focus on running their businesses.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys being across the detail, can comfortably juggle competing priorities and takes pride in making sure things are followed through properly. You'll need good judgement, a positive and willing attitude, and a genuine enjoyment of helping others.
You'll be an important part of the wider People & Culture team, providing reliable support across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to ongoing employment administration and compliance.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with managers across the group, helping coordinate the day-to-day recruitment and HR processes that support our people and businesses.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Recruitment coordination: Overseeing the recruitment administration process, including job advertising, applications, interview scheduling, candidate communication, reference checks, offers and onboarding.
- Employment documentation: Preparing employment agreements, variations, letters and other employee documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Employee administration: Coordinating new starters, employee changes, transfers and exits, and keeping employee records and HR systems up to date.
- Keeping on top of the detail: Tracking important employment milestones, visa expiry dates, work rights, qualifications, training and other compliance requirements, following up with managers where needed.
- Payroll and reporting support: Coordinating payroll-related changes, ensuring information is accurate and provided on time, and assisting with routine HR reporting.
- Improving how we work: Helping maintain consistent processes, identifying opportunities to make administration easier and more efficient, and supporting improvements to our HR systems.
A big part of the role will be keeping things on track, following up outstanding actions, communicating clearly and making it easier for managers to get on with what they need to do.
What we're looking for
First and foremost, we're looking for the right person and approach. Someone who is organised, dependable and takes pride in doing things well.
You'll ideally be someone who:
- Has excellent organisational skills and a strong eye for detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing track of the important things.
- Takes initiative, is proactive and follows tasks through to completion rather than waiting to be asked.
- Uses good judgement, knows when to take ownership and when to ask questions or escalate something.
- Brings a positive, willing attitude and is happy to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed.
- Enjoys supporting people and managers, finding solutions and helping teams get on with their work.
- Communicates clearly and confidently, building positive working relationships with people across different businesses and teams.
- Handles confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Is comfortable with digital systems, Microsoft Office and spreadsheets, and enjoys finding ways to make processes work better.
Previous experience in recruitment coordination, HR administration or a similar role would be beneficial. We're also very open to someone with a strong administration background who has the right attitude and capabilities and is keen to develop their HR knowledge.
A little about us

What's on offer?
- A permanent, full-time position within a growing People & Culture team.
- A varied role with exposure to different businesses and teams.
