When you work as a Scientist II in the Mass Spec Bioanalysis Development group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by applying your knowledge of bioanalytical and scientific principles to independently execute study activities, from sample preparation and LC-MS/MS analysis through data processing, while supporting method development, qualification, and optimization. You will utilize your scientific foundation to assess data integrity, troubleshoot technical challenges, and deliver high-quality results with limited oversight.
Our Mass Spec Bioanalysis Development team uses LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry) techniques and sophisticated sample preparation methods to meet bioanalytical needs for drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including the bioanalysis of drugs and metabolites, biomarkers, and active endogenous compounds in biological fluids and tissues.
In this role, we will rely on you to:
- Execute study activities including sample preparation (extractions, enrichments/affinity capture, digestions), LC-MS/MS analysis, and data processing with limited supervision
- Support method development, qualification, and optimization activities
- Troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions with limited guidance
- Analyze data and prepare summaries for senior scientists to aid in client updates
- Ensure compliance of study activities with pertinent portions of study protocol, SOPs & regulatory requirements
- Communicate study progress and risks to senior staff
- Provide informal guidance to junior staff as needed
- Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values
To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s in chemistry, Biochemistry or chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field with at least 2–4 years of experience with LC-MS/MS
- Hands-on experience with bioanalytical sample preparation, quantitative LC-MS/MS, and chromatography
- Experience supporting method development, qualification, and troubleshooting
- Experience with small molecule analysis; proteins, peptides, or biomarkers experience preferred
- Familiarity with reversed phase or HILIC chromatography and standard bioanalytical workflows
- Experience working in a regulated environment (GLP/GxP) preferred
Depending on your background and qualifications, we may consider hiring you for one of three levels of Scientist roles at KCAS Bio. This will be determined during the interview process.
