About the role

The International School of Busan seeks a passionate, experienced, and collaborative MYP/DP Spanish Teacher to inspire students to develop language proficiency, intercultural understanding, and an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inquiry-based instruction aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and the requirements of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

The MYP/DP Spanish Teacher will design and implement a rigorous, student-centred curriculum that develops students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while fostering critical thinking, communication, and global citizenship. The teacher will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to take risks, build confidence, and use Spanish authentically in meaningful contexts.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering differentiated instruction, developing appropriate assessments aligned with IB criteria, providing timely and constructive feedback, and monitoring student progress. The teacher will prepare students for MYP assessments and DP examinations, while supporting the development of independent learning skills and intercultural awareness.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and continuity across the MYP and DP, contribute to interdisciplinary learning opportunities, and actively participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, student advisory, and school events.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant teaching qualifications, a high level of Spanish language proficiency, and experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level. Familiarity with IB assessment practices and experience working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds are highly desirable.

Above all, the successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine commitment to student wellbeing, academic excellence, inclusive education, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for language learning within the ISB community.
