Join Nilfisk as a Senior Fullstack Developer and help shape our public website for customers across multiple markets. You will turn thoughtful UX and UI designs into fast, reliable digital experiences while modernising a composable web landscape built on .NET, Umbraco CMS and Next.js. This role combines hands-on engineering, architectural influence, close teamwork and visible business impact.
The Role
Based in Budapest, you will combine time with colleagues in the office with remote working in a 50/50 hybrid arrangement as you develop and enhance Nilfisk’s public website across modern frontend applications, backend services and enterprise integrations. You will work with Next.js, .NET, headless content management in Umbraco CMS, Algolia search, and connected systems such as PIM and DAM.
You will contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle by shaping technical solutions, building and testing features, improving performance and resilience, supporting releases, and helping maintain stable day-to-day operations. A key part of the role is balancing platform modernisation with pragmatic improvements to legacy areas while protecting delivery commitments.
What you will do
- Design, build and maintain production-grade web experiences with Next.js and Umbraco, translating Figma designs and business needs into responsive, accessible customer journeys.
- Develop and improve .NET backend services and integrations, including API orchestration, caching, performance optimisation and resiliency patterns.
- Create stable, well-designed content and product data flows across Algolia, PIM, DAM and other integration points.
- Build, deploy and operate solutions on Microsoft Azure using services such as App Service, Functions and Azure Storage, while contributing to monitoring, scalability and cost-efficient hosting.
- Drive quality throughout delivery by self-testing changes, writing maintainable and well-tested code, reviewing pull requests and reducing regression risk before business testing and release.
- Improve the platform and team effectiveness by refactoring legacy code, strengthening component architecture and developer experience, communicating blockers early, and explaining technical decisions clearly.
Your New Team
You will join a collaborative, cross-functional environment where developers, product owners, designers and technical specialists work together to improve Nilfisk’s public website. Whether working together in the office or connecting remotely, the team stays connected through Microsoft Teams, Jira and agile ceremonies, with room for independent problem-solving, constructive challenge and knowledge sharing.
You will be encouraged to contribute ideas, review code, support colleagues and help the team make sound architectural choices. Success comes from combining technical depth with openness, reliability and a practical understanding of business priorities.
AI-assisted tools are already part of how we work. We encourage you to explore how they can support your development process, from testing ideas to improving code and test coverage. We see AI as a helpful partner, not a substitute for your expertise, critical thinking or hands-on work. You remain responsible for understanding, reviewing and validating what you deliver.
Why Join Us
Your work will contribute directly to digital experiences used across markets and regions. You will work with a modern, composable technology landscape, tackle meaningful engineering challenges and influence how the platform evolves. The role offers an international working environment, close collaboration across disciplines and opportunities to strengthen both technical and architectural skills.
At Nilfisk, we know that amazing people make amazing companies. You will join a culture built on trust and freedom, with a strong growth mindset. At Nilfisk, it is OK to make mistakes, as long as you learn from them. We encourage you to question ideas and speak your mind so that together we can find the best solutions. If this resonates with you, we would be excited to hear from you.
What you bring
You are a fullstack developer who enjoys turning complex requirements into clear, dependable solutions. You bring:
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET and building production-grade applications with Next.js.
- Solid understanding of modern React patterns, component architecture, responsive design, and the trade-offs involved in performance, scalability and maintainability.
- Experience with .NET backend services API design, and Redis or comparable caching technologies
- A good understanding
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong understanding of data fetching, caching and API integration to build resilient customer journeys
- A quality-focused approach to development, including testing, code review and reliable delivery.
Additional experience we value:
- Technical leadership as a tech lead or lead developer, including guiding technical direction and supporting other developers.
- Umbraco CMS, including headless content delivery and back-office customisation.
- Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices.
- Web performance, SEO and accessibility, including WCAG, for high-traffic public websites.
- Integrations with PIM, DAM or other enterprise systems used in global organisations.
- MACH or composable architecture principles.
Beyond the technology, you communicate clearly, approach problems analytically and pay close attention to detail. You are comfortable working independently and collaboratively, know when to seek clarification and contribute constructively through code reviews, mentoring and open technical discussion. You adapt well as priorities and requirements evolve.
