About the role
Want to work at the intersection of technology, strategy and enterprise decision-making, with the opportunity to influence priorities that matter across Bunnings?
As Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives, you’ll work closely with our Chief Information Officer and CIO Leadership Team, helping turn strategy across Technology, Data & AI and Cyber into clear priorities, roadmaps and action.
This is a role with genuine breadth. You’ll move between big-picture thinking and practical delivery, bringing clarity to complex challenges, improving how we work and helping senior leaders make informed decisions
What's involved
You will;
- Partner with the CIO and senior leaders to shape and communicate technology strategy, priorities and roadmaps.
- Turn complex Technology, Data & AI and Cyber topics into clear insights, recommendations and stories that support executive decision-making.
- Bring together perspectives from across the business to create alignment on strategic priorities, dependencies and opportunities.
- Develop high-quality Board and Executive Leadership Team materials, strategic papers, briefings and presentations.
- Create effective planning and governance rhythms that keep priority initiatives visible, connected and moving forward.
- Tackle complex organisational problems, using structured thinking to identify root causes and practical solutions.
- Lead business improvement opportunities that simplify processes, reduce duplication and improve how resources, investment, skills and tools are used.
- Help track progress against strategic objectives and translate outcomes into meaningful insights for senior leaders.
- Build trusted relationships across Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal, People and other business teams, as well as external partners.
About You
You’re comfortable operating where the answer isn't always obvious. You can take a complicated problem, quickly work out what matters and create a clear way forward.
You’ll enjoy bringing people together and building momentum across different priorities without needing direct authority. Just as importantly, you'll know when to challenge thinking, when to listen and how to turn diverse perspectives into practical outcomes.
This team works across some of Bunnings' biggest technology and business priorities, so you'll be someone who combines strategic thinking with sound commercial judgement and strong follow-through.
You'll also be trusted with sensitive information and senior-level conversations, making discretion and judgement important.
What you'll need
- 10+ years' relevant experience across strategy, consulting, executive advisory, technology strategy, transformation or portfolio management.
- Experience partnering with executives or senior leadership teams on complex strategic priorities.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments, including areas such as data, AI and cyber.
- Demonstrated experience improving processes, solving organisational problems and delivering measurable efficiency or productivity outcomes.
- Excellent written, presentation and facilitation skills, including creating compelling executive-level materials.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with confidence working across financial, portfolio and performance information.
- The ability to influence across functions and navigate multiple priorities with autonomy and sound judgement.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, with postgraduate study, an MBA or equivalent experience highly regarded.
You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong.
