Veo is a global leader in AI-based sports camera technology. Our innovative, fully automatic camera solution enables sports teams to record matches and training sessions without a camera operator. We’re democratizing the world of sports by granting video analysis for teams on all levels—a privilege that used to be only for the few. More than 40,000 clubs in 90+ countries record their games every week.
But what truly sets us apart? Our people. We’re a diverse group of innovative thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers who believe in delivering an incredible product—and having fun while doing it.
Opportunity
We're looking for a student to help turn football tracking and event data into high quality data products. You'll work closely with a senior data scientist to stress-test and iterate on the pipelines to achieve this. The role is partly engineering: building data exports and pipelines. It's also partly detective work: checking that the data matches what actually happened on the pitch. You'll take ownership of deliveries, whilst receiving support from the team whenever you need it. The role is 15–20 hours a week, with flexibility around exams.
Key responsibilities
- Validate outputs by comparing the data with match video, then flag and diagnose anything that looks wrong
- Help to build and maintain data products delivered from our tracking and event data
- Help turn manual steps into repeatable, automated pipelines as the work scales
- Document issues, edge cases and fixes so the process stays reliable
What we're looking for
- You're studying data science, computer science, statistics, maths, physics or a similar quantitative subject
- You're comfortable with Python data libraries and SQL
- You're fluent with AI tools and can use them in your day-to-day work.
- You know football well. You can watch a match and judge whether the data describes it correctly: who had the ball, who pressed, which shape a team was in
- You have a sharp eye for detail and get some satisfaction from finding out why a number is wrong
- You communicate clearly in English, in writing and in person
Nice to have
- Experience working with football event or tracking data
- Coaching, scouting or performance analysis experience at any level
- Git and some experience working in a shared codebase
