About the role
As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) you will support the nurse and vets with in-patient procedures and pet care delivering exceptional care always there to our clients, patients, and colleagues.
This is a mobile role - working across six clinics within a 5 mile radius of East Finchley, supporting teams when holiday cover is required or when they could use the extra help. The six clinics are in Southgate, Mill Hill, Kingsbury, Hampstead Garden Suburb, Hendon 24 Hr Hospital and Temple Fortune.
Your rota would be written at least one month ahead of time, but late changes are inevitable.
We are looking for someone with previous experience working in a veterinary practice who is confident handling animals. Experience monitoring anaesthesia is preferred. A full driving licence is essential, as you will be required to accompany vets from time to time when transporting patients to our Hendon Hospital for surgical procedures. Regular reception duties are also part of this role, so experience working in a client-facing reception environment is required.
This opportunity would suit a confident, enthusiastic, and outgoing individual who has excellent customer service skills and enjoys working among supportive teams.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at the branches. The role also includes working one full weekend in every three at Hendon 24-Hour Hospital. In addition, you should expect to work 2-3 bank holidays per year and participate in a shared on-call rota, providing support to Hendon 24-Hour Hospital for approximately 2-3 weeks per year. Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:
Health and wellbeing
- Health Cash Plan from day one
- 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support
- Life Assurance 3 x salary
Annual leave
- 5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising with length of service
- Extra ‘Day for You’, a paid day off just for you
Additional support
- Cycle to Work
- Season Ticket loans
- Discounts on Medivet products and services
