This is an exciting opportunity to mentor students, collaborate with faculty, and gain valuable instructional experience while helping shape the next generation of professionals and innovators.
As an Instructional Assistant , you will play an important role in creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment through hands-on assistance, tutoring, classroom facilitation, and academic support.
This is a face-to-face, part-time opportunity located on GCU’s Main Campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

Minimum Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
- Must reside in Arizona and be available to work in person on GCU’s Main Campus
- Successfully completed coursework in Chemistry with a grade of B or higher
- Strong communication and classroom support skills
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or instructional support experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with faculty to support classroom instruction and student engagement
- Assist with lesson preparation, grading, and classroom facilitation
- Hold weekly office hours to provide tutoring and academic support
- Reinforce course concepts through one-on-one and group assistance
- Support classroom management and proctor examinations
- Observe and report student progress to faculty
- Facilitate review sessions and supplemental instruction opportunities
- Help create a collaborative and encouraging learning environment
- Uphold and support the mission and values of Grand Canyon University
Additional Information
- Part-time, in-person position
- Maximum of 10 hours per week
- Schedule may vary based on course assignment and departmental needs
