About the role

Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a Contracting Divisional Manager to join our Gisborne team. This is a senior leadership role with real influence, where you’ll shape the long-term direction, performance and success of our contracting division. You’ll lead a sizeable, multi-disciplinary operation of more than 35 people, including Department Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, an Administrator, and work crews across Roading, Projects, Transport and Traffic Management.

This role brings real accountability and real scope. You’ll hold P&L ownership for the division, lead key client relationships, and drive work-winning activity that keeps the pipeline strong. You’ll balance strategic thinking with operational oversight, lifting standards, backing your people, and helping the business grow in a way that is smart, sustainable and commercially sound.

Working closely with an experienced team, you’ll create the conditions for Good Work by being clear, low ego and high impact. You’ll know how to build momentum, spot opportunities early, and bring others with you while keeping standards high and the noise low. This role also offers a clear succession pathway into the Branch Manager position for the right person.

A generous relocation package is available for candidates looking to make the move to Gisborne. If you’re after a lifestyle that gives you more room to breathe, this part of the world delivers. Gisborne offers beaches, great surf, vineyards, a strong sense of community and easy access to the outdoors, all while giving you the chance to lead meaningful work in a region that is continuing to grow and invest in its infrastructure. We’d ideally like someone to start pre-Christmas or in early January.
