Financial Controller

As part of our Corporate Finance team, we will support Novonesis affiliates in Australia, Korea and Japan across financial controlling, reporting, costing, tax, treasury, risk management and compliance. You will work closely with finance colleagues across APAC and globally, as well as partners in other functions such as Commercial and Supply Chain, and external authorities and consultants in a collaborative team where people take ownership, explore better solutions and care for one another.
The Role & Your Impact
Based at our TEDA site in Tianjin, you will play an important role in maintaining effective financial governance while supporting business performance across multiple markets. This role combines hands-on finance operations, compliance and business partnering, giving you the opportunity to turn financial data into meaningful insights and practical recommendations.
Your key responsibilities will include:

- Perform financial controlling activities, including trial balance reviews, period-end closing, financial reporting and enterprise risk management.

- Manage and control payroll, product costing, working capital, taxation and transfer-pricing-related activities.

- Maintain a robust internal control and governance environment, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements.

- Partner with business functions to resolve financial matters and provide data-driven financial advice that supports effective decision-making.

- Collaborate with regional and global finance colleagues, auditors, government authorities and external advisors to identify timely solutions.

- Drive process optimization, automation and continuous improvement across finance activities.

- Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives as required.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful

- A bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.

- At least five years of relevant finance experience within a multinational company.

- Strong experience in financial controlling, compliance, reporting, forecasting, financial analysis and taxation.

- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes and internal control requirements.

- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, together with financial analysis or automation tools.

- Fluency in written and spoken English.

- Strong accounting knowledge and analytical capabilities.

- High integrity, accountability and attention to detail.

- The ability to communicate financial information clearly and translate data into actionable business insights.

- Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Interests We Value

- A recognized professional accounting certification.

- Korean language capability.

- Experience working across multiple countries or legal entities.

- An interest in finance automation and process improvement.

- Experience partnering with Commercial, Supply Chain or other cross-functional stakeholders.
