About the role

Job Description
You will directly support the Finance & Accounting team in managing daily transactional accounting operations across both vendor disbursements and customer billings. This role provides comprehensive, hands-on exposure to both the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) accounting cycles in a fast-paced corporate setting.

Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable (AP) Operations

- Invoice Processing: Receive, match, and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders (POs) and delivery receipts (3-way matching).

- Claims Review: Check staff reimbursement claims and corporate credit card expenses against internal travel and expense (T&E) policies.

- Payment Processing: Assist in preparing payment runs (bank transfers, remittances, corporate checks) and maintain updated payment tracking records.

- Vendor Reconciliations: Reconcile monthly supplier statement of accounts against internal AP ledgers and resolve billing discrepancies or outstanding credits.

2. Accounts Receivable (AR) Operations

- Billing & Invoicing: Assist in issuing customer tax invoices, debit/credit notes, and official receipts accurately and on schedule.

- Receipt Matching & Allocation: Monitor daily bank inflows and allocate customer payments against corresponding outstanding sales invoices.

- Customer Reconciliations: Generate and distribute monthly customer Statements of Account (SOA), following up on disputed billings and inquiries.

- Credit Control & Aging: Assist with tracking AR aging schedules, identifying overdue accounts, and coordinating payment follow-ups.

3. Month-End Closing & Reconciliations

- Assist with month-end closing activities for both AP and AR sub-ledgers.

- Prepare schedules for accruals, unbilled receivables, and unallocated cash deposits.

- Perform regular bank-to-ledger reconciliations for incoming receipts and outgoing disbursements.

4. Audit, Compliance & Digitalization

- Maintain structured, audit-compliant digital archives for invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and tax documents.

- Assist in retrieving AP and AR sample documentation for statutory tax filings and internal/external audits.

- Support ongoing finance automation initiatives, such as e-invoicing adoption and ERP workflow enhancements.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.

- Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and foundational P2P and O2C workflows.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables); prior exposure to accounting software or ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks) is an advantage.

- Attributes: High attention to detail, numerical precision, sound organizational skills, and clear communication.

- Commitment: Available for a full-time internship for a minimum duration of 3 to 6 months.
