What will you do?

A specialist is required for the robust federated learning research line at Tecnológico de Monterrey. The project builds a functional prototype for deepfake detection in video and video calls and for financial fraud detection, training models across institutions without sharing raw data. It builds on trust-based aggregation strategies that combine privacy-preserving client quality signals (local benchmark error and parameter divergence) to withstand non-IID, corrupted or noisy clients. You will work end to end, from state-of-the-art review to implementation, software release and publication.

Your main challenges will be:

Compile a corpus of at least 250 state-of-the-art publications.

Conduct tests using at least pre-built products for deepfake detection.

Propose a new deepfake detection system or methodology for video calls.

Design and run federated scenarios (non-IID clients, ResNet-18 and ViT-B/16) with robust aggregation strategies.

Model corruptions and attacks: label noise, drift, malicious or stale clients.

Containerize the demonstrator with Docker and the Flower Deployment Engine (SuperLink / SuperNode) and compare aggregation strategies.

Run systematic tests following international standards and document the system.

Write and publish scientific papers (Q1/Q2 target) and support software demo releases.

What are we looking for?

PhD in Computer Science or a related field.

-
At least one Q1/Q2 publication.

-
Development of end-to-end deep learning models.

-
Model development using specialized frameworks, e.g., PyTorch.

Strong knowledge of Machine Learning paradigms.

-
Mathematical skills related to latent spaces and differentiable manifolds.

-
English oral and written communication skills at B2 level.

-
Planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
