As our next Accounts Payable Analyst - Indirect Expenses, you’ll support the processing and control of payments for Johnson Electric’s legal entities in Mexico. Your experience in accounts payable, financial reconciliations, electronic accounting, ERP systems, and supplier management will help ensure accurate transactions, timely payments, compliant financial records, and successful monthly and quarterly closings.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- Professional Growth: Expand your accounting experience across high-volume Accounts Payable, reconciliations, closing activities, and financial systems.
- Global Collaboration: Work with internal teams, intercompany partners, and suppliers across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and China.
- Meaningful Impact: Help ensure accurate supplier payments, financial records, and critical month-end and quarter-end activities.
- Collaborative Culture: Partner with Supply Chain, Receiving, Finance, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to resolve issues and keep transactions moving.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to finance digitization, process improvements, and more efficient Accounts Payable operations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Process and validate high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes for national, foreign, and intercompany transactions, including approximately 900 to 1,100 invoices per month.
- Verify invoice accuracy, authorization, supporting documentation, XML requirements, receipts, pricing, quantities, and potential duplicate transactions while resolving discrepancies with internal teams and suppliers.
- Prepare payment proposals, review supplier account statements, monitor prepayments, and support accurate and timely supplier payments for applicable Mexican legal entities.
- Perform monthly Accounts Payable closing activities, including invoice registration, module closure, account reclassifications, intercompany reconciliations, and Accounts Payable subledger-to-General Ledger reconciliations.
- Review and process indirect-expense transactions, accruals for uninvoiced expenses, journal entries, stuck receipts, purchase-order reclassifications, and other month-end activity.
- Support Mexican electronic accounting requirements by validating XML documentation, maintaining electronic financial records, and following up on missing documentation with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and review Accounts Payable reports, FCCS balances and quarterly reporting, audit documentation, pending-invoice reports, and other financial information required for closing and compliance activities.
- Partner with local and international teams to resolve payment and invoice-processing issues while supporting external audits, finance digitization, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Completed bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Two to four years of accounting experience with a primary focus on Accounts Payable.
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, financial reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, cash flow, and general accounting principles.
- Experience processing high volumes of supplier invoices and reconciling Accounts Payable subledgers against the General Ledger.
- Experience with ERP or financial systems, preferably Oracle, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Understanding of Mexican electronic accounting and XML documentation requirements.
- Strong English communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and supplier-service skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet strict monthly and quarterly closing deadlines.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience supporting Accounts Payable for multiple legal entities, including intercompany accounting or international supplier transactions.
- Experience with Oracle Accounts Payable modules, FCCS, FACEL, QDX, or comparable financial platforms.
- Knowledge of Mexican tax and electronic accounting requirements beyond day-to-day XML processing.
- Experience supporting external financial audits, supplier prepayments, uninvoiced-expense accruals, or finance digitization projects.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills or manufacturing/shared-services accounting experience.
