In line with the UAE Government’s strategy in empowering and developing nationals, Emirates NBD is committed to welcoming the young generation into an innovative, modern and supportive work environment to contribute to the nation's success. We are looking to find the best UAEN talent to join our ENBD family.
As a Retail Banking Officer – Credit Card at Emirates NBD in the UAE, you will support the bank’s credit card business by identifying and assisting suitable new customers. Reporting to the Sales Manager as an individual contributor, you will explain products clearly, collect accurate customer information and supporting documents, follow applications through the process, and keep customers informed. You will also support payroll acquisition through account opening and identify suitable cross-sell opportunities through approved channels. Banking experience is not required, and you will receive product, system, sales and compliance training before working independently.
Responsibilities
- Build a pipeline of prospective credit card customers through approved channels, referrals, campaigns and direct outreach, including employer relationships, company campaigns and kiosks.
- Understand customer needs and clearly explain credit card features, eligibility, pricing, fees, benefits and key obligations.
- Work toward assigned sales and conversion targets while prioritizing customer suitability, fair treatment and application quality.
- Collect and verify customer information and supporting documents, submit complete applications, and follow up through to the outcome with credit, operations, fulfilment and service teams.
- Keep customers informed, answer routine questions, and promptly escalate complaints or issues.
- Support payroll acquisition through employer engagement and employee account opening, including collecting required documents, submitting complete applications, and coordinating account-opening and salary-transfer follow-up through approved channels.
- Identify suitable cross-sell opportunities among payroll and other customers, explain relevant banking products based on their needs and eligibility, and make referrals through approved channels.
- Follow all know-your-customer (KYC), anti-money-laundering (AML), sanctions, fraud-prevention, data-privacy and customer-consent requirements.
- Maintain accurate lead, activity and application records, and complete mandatory training and certifications. Product assignment may change after the required training and certification.
- Respect role boundaries: do not make credit approval decisions or promise approval, pricing, limits, valuation results or completion dates. Sales targets must never override customer suitability, fair treatment, document quality, or bank and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is the minimum qualification; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent recognized qualification is also accepted.
- Previous banking experience is not required. Experience in customer service, sales, internships, projects or extracurricular activities can be helpful.
- Clear spoken and written communication, with the confidence to approach customers and explain information accurately.
- Comfort with basic calculations, digital forms, email and data entry.
- A responsible, organized and customer-focused approach, with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Integrity, respect for confidentiality and confidence to raise concerns about potential issues.
